Forcing me to write IOUs... A man from Jiangxi recounts his experience of being deceived by Burmese migrant workers: they beat IOUs with electric batons. Police | High salary | Electric baton
"Overseas high paying recruitment with monthly income of tens of thousands of yuan"
"Reimbursement of circuit fees"
"You can come and see it as a trip first."
……
Those who fantasize about overnight wealth cannot resist the temptation to go abroad, only to find that the reality is not as they imagine. Recently, a man named Gu told the police in Xunwu County, Jiangxi Province about his unforgettable experience abroad.
According to Gu, at the end of 2020, he met a customer service representative of a company through the internet. The representative asked him if he wanted to make money in Myanmar and stated that he could earn at least tens of thousands of yuan per month. Gu hesitated a bit at the time. The other party said he could go and take a look first, and then transferred 1000 yuan of travel expenses to him. He also said that if he was not satisfied with the trip, he would consider it a trip. So, Gu was tempted and followed the instructions of the customer service to go to Yunnan. He was then taken with him and illegally crossed to Xiaomengla, Myanmar after multiple transfers.
To Gu's surprise, Myanmar was not a paradise, and he fell into hell instead. He was taken to a fraud company by the other party and forced to write a debt of 48000 yuan. The people in the company were all carrying guns, and Gu was extremely scared. He could only follow the arrangements to help the other party, and had to pay high interest every day. Gu worked for three months, but instead owed the company 60000 yuan. He tried to escape multiple times, but was kept under surveillance and unable to escape.
More than three months later, Gu was "sold" to another fraudulent company and forced to write a 100000 yuan IOU. The other party also forced him to contact his relatives and friends at home, borrow money from them, and borrow bank cards to "post". Gu was slightly disobedient and was beaten by the other party with electric batons, swing sticks, and stock. Gu had no choice but to engage in illegal activities of electronic fraud under the supervision of the thugs.
Gu often suffered from severe beatings, with scars all over his body. He couldn't bear it and wanted to escape. Once, Gu seized the opportunity to pry open the anti-theft net and escape, but was quickly recaptured by the other party. Gu fled several times, but was arrested and subjected to even more brutal and inhumane beatings. Gu said that if the other party says they want to send him to Guogan, he will die there.
Later, Gu clashed with personnel from a fraud company and was taken away by the local police station. Through multiple efforts, the Xunwu police successfully rescued Gu on the afternoon of June 7, 2023. "Thank you to our country, thank you to the police, thank you for rescuing me. Don't believe in the dream of becoming rich, it's all a lie!"
Police reminder: High paying job offers are a trap, and providing travel expenses is a bait. Please make sure to keep your eyes open and never cross the border to work abroad.
