For a month in a row! The highest temperature in Phoenix, USA exceeds 43 ℃
Many parts of the southwestern United States have been subjected to high temperatures, with Phoenix, the capital of Arizona, experiencing temperatures exceeding 43 degrees Celsius for a consecutive month, far exceeding the record set nearly half a century ago.
The Associated Press reported on the 29th, citing data from the US Department of Meteorology, that the highest temperature in this desert city with a population of over 1.6 million climbed again to above 43.3 degrees Celsius that day, breaking this value for 30 consecutive days. The previous record of the highest temperature continuously exceeding 43.3 degrees Celsius occurred in 1974 and lasted for 18 days.
However, according to the meteorological department's forecast, Phoenix is expected to experience rainfall on the 30th, and the high temperature may be alleviated. Arizona usually enters the monsoon season in mid June, with increased storms and heavy rainfall, but this year the monsoon season is delayed.
The Associated Press previously reported, citing meteorologists, that in the early 20th century, Phoenix had temperatures of no less than 43.3 degrees Celsius for about 5 days per year, but in the past 10 years, it has increased to about 27 days per year.
