Guangzhou, July 10, 2023 (Xinhua) - The "Wings Spreading Plan" Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan College Student Internship Special Action and the "Hundred Enterprises and Thousand Talents" Hong Kong and Macao College Student Internship Plan in Guangzhou have recently been launched. During the summer vacation, nearly 200 young students from Hong Kong and Macao will travel to major enterprises and institutions in Guangzhou, starting a short-term internship of about 45 days.
At the launch ceremony, Huo Qiwen, Vice Chairman of the Guangzhou Youth Federation and Chairman of the Hong Kong Guangzhou Youth Federation, expressed the hope that students who participate in the "Hundred Enterprises and Thousand Talents" Hong Kong and Macao College Student Internship Program can promote youth exchange and communication among Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao through offline internships, aim for future employment opportunities, find life directions, and inject new impetus into the high-quality development of the Greater Bay Area.
Hong Kong and Macau university students are full of anticipation for the upcoming internship in Guangzhou. "I have registered with the Macau Chinese Students' Federation and am preparing to intern at the Yuexiu District People's Court in Guangzhou. This is a rare opportunity that has been very helpful for me to accumulate experience and broaden my horizons," said Yang Yingyi, a student majoring in Sino Portuguese Law at the University of Macau.
In the next month or so, Hong Kong and Macao university students will participate in the "Youth Comes to Guangzhou Together" cultural exchange activity in addition to their internships, experiencing Lingnan culture, experiencing high-tech, and participating in rural revitalization, further enhancing the cultural identity of Hong Kong and Macao youth.
Since 2020, the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League and the Guangzhou Youth Federation have launched the "One Hundred Enterprises, One Thousand Talents" internship program for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan university students. The program mainly recruits young students under the age of 28 from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to participate in 4-6 weeks of internships in Guangzhou, providing food, accommodation, transportation, insurance, and other security services. A total of 867 people have been employed for internships.
