Focus Interview: Setting a Benchmark for Future Industries with "Numbers" | Data | Benchmarking for Future Industries
CCTV News: Currently, data has become an important factor of production, and the development of the big data industry is of great significance. The recently concluded 2023 China International Big Data Industry Expo in Guiyang has once again shown us new achievements and applications in the development of the big data industry. The Digital Expo was founded in 2015 and officially upgraded to a national level expo in 2017. It has now become a benchmark and an international and professional platform for the development of big data.
The annual theme of this year's Digital Expo is "Integrating Digital and Real to Start the Future", mainly focusing on the "changes" and "innovations" in economic development, people's lives, and social governance in the digital age. Guests from various countries had in-depth exchanges and sharing around relevant fields.
Ma Ningyu, Executive Deputy Director of the Executive Committee of the 2023 Digital Expo and Mayor of Guiyang City, said, "This year's Digital Expo highlights internationalization, specialization, and marketization. We are more focused on national strategy, focusing on key areas such as East and West computing, data circulation, and artificial intelligence to highlight the combination of theory and practice. We are also more focused on the forefront of the industry and digital empowerment."
This year's Digital Expo has attracted 328 well-known enterprises from 50 countries and regions to participate. Six themed exhibition halls, including the International Comprehensive Hall, Innovation Scene Hall, Digital Life Hall, and Industrial Digital Hall, showcase new technologies, products, solutions, and applications in the field of big data. Many of these innovative achievements have left a deep impression on the attendees.
A participating company brings spatial big data visualization technology. They visualized the tornado data from the past 40 years in three dimensions, and constructed a three-dimensional visualization model based on data such as longitude and latitude, time, place names, and intensity levels to intuitively explore and present the patterns hidden behind each tornado.
Li Yingtong, a staff member of the exhibiting company, said, "In the future, we will present data from behind a flat screen through holographic projection technology, so that it can appear around us and we can have conversations with virtual data in real space. We will explore the value of data and make it useful to us. We can make judgments and decisions based on the rules of data."
The development of digital technology has also made social governance more efficient and intelligent. The mobile platform of Guizhou Digital Government's "One Network Service" has broken through the data barriers of various departments in the past and achieved data sharing between different departments. Now, on the "One Network Service" mobile end, the government service functions of different departments are classified together, and more than 4000 government services related to people's production and life can be efficiently processed on this mobile end, greatly facilitating the people.
This year, the "One Stop Service" mobile app has also created a special area for the elderly and young, providing precise services to groups with special needs through big data matching.
Yang Fei, the person in charge of digital government affairs at the exhibiting company, said, "We have connected data such as human resources and social security, education, and health. We have accurately analyzed the portraits of young people between the ages of 14 and 45, such as whether they are in school or graduating, and whether they need to find a job. At the same time, in the policy section of the government, we will split the policies into labels and correspond them with people, achieving the policy of finding people instead of the original policy of people finding people."
At this Digital Expo, the Industrial Internet Application Scenario Competition is also a new highlight. This competition focuses on the pain points encountered in the digital transformation of traditional enterprises in Guizhou, and solicits solutions nationwide. Finally, 24 out of 205 participating teams from across the country were selected to enter the finals, providing quality and management digital solutions for enterprises in fields such as biomedicine and phosphorus chemical industry. The winning teams will directly participate in the transformation and upgrading of enterprises.
Pan Jun, the leader of the competition team for the 2023 Digital Expo and the director of the Guiyang Industry and Information Technology Bureau, said, "Today we have presented real orders for six competition questions worth 70 million yuan, which is equivalent to an enlarged version of the bidding. Through the competition, we aim to help physical enterprises develop and achieve the goal of attracting investment through competition, gathering talents through competition, and promoting production through competition."
Guizhou is an important pioneer area for implementing the big data strategy in China. From establishing a national comprehensive big data pilot zone to creating an innovative zone for digital economy development, Guizhou is applying the concept and technology of big data to promote deep integration of digital and real economy, accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading, and promote high-quality economic and social development.
Jing Yaping, Director of the Guizhou Province Big Data Development Management Bureau, said, "Since 2018, we have provided more than 80000 digital diagnostic reports, driving more than 20000 enterprises to go online and empower them, promoting the transformation and empowerment of the real economy. The integration index continues to improve, and the growth rate of Guizhou Province's digital economy has ranked first in the country for seven consecutive years."
A participating enterprise that provides services for the freight industry has built a digital platform using big data, making the operation of traditional freight industry more efficient and intelligent. So how does this digital platform operate? Master Xu has been running truck transportation for 20 years. A few days ago, he pulled a cart of department stores from Jiangsu to Guiyang. Previously, every time the goods were transported to their destination, Master Xu had to spend a lot of time and effort finding a suitable source of return goods.
Due to the delay in searching for goods, Master Xu could only go to work twice a month on average at that time. After arriving in Guiyang this time, he no longer worries about having no source of goods to empty the car back. While unloading, Master Xu opened the digital freight platform on his phone, and the platform will accurately push some suitable sources of goods based on Master Xu's situation. Master Xu selected a source of goods from Guiyang to Jiangsu, and after phone communication with the shipper, he quickly made an order. The digital freight platform used by Master Xu integrates data from multiple dimensions such as vehicle models, shipping, prices, and routes, and utilizes technologies such as AI and cloud computing to achieve rapid order matching and intelligent planning of transportation paths.
Truck driver Xu Huanle said, "With the help of big data, we have basically doubled the number of jobs. We run four jobs a month, and I have been running a car for 20 years. To be honest, in the past, sports cars used to be tiring, tiring, and tiring. Now that sports cars are on the road, we can find jobs that suit us, and let's settle if they don't suit us."
Over the past 12 months, more than 3.5 million drivers have taken orders and completed transportation through this platform. Last year, the platform completed a total of 120 million freight orders, with a transaction amount of 261.1 billion yuan. At present, the business of this platform has covered more than 300 cities and over 100000 lines nationwide. The rapid development of digital technology has greatly improved industry efficiency.
Hu Yang, Director of the Smart Transportation Research Center of the exhibiting company, said, "Now, the monthly driving distance of drivers on the platform has increased from 9000 kilometers in the past to 12000 kilometers, and the idle driving rate has decreased from 37% to 32%. In recent years, the platform has cumulatively reduced carbon emissions by more than 10 million tons."
In the relevant exhibition areas of this year's Digital Expo, we can see that from rural environmental governance to rural e-commerce, from rural characteristic tourism to agricultural industry development, digital empowerment of rural areas is undergoing tremendous changes. In Tianzhu County, Guizhou Province, one of the main industries in the area is the free range breeding of local chickens in over 300000 acres of oil tea forests. Long Buzhong is a breeder at the Tianzhu Mountain Chicken Breeding Base. Early in the morning, he put over 2500 new breeds of mountain chickens into the oil tea forest. And his biggest concern every day is the number of steps the chicken takes to move.
Long Buzhong, a breeder at the Running Mountain Chicken Breeding Base in Tianzhu County, Guizhou, said, "The standard for our chickens to be released from the market is 150 to 180 days. The 'Running Chicken' needs to reach 1 million steps to run. If some chickens run less, I have to chase them to make them run. How do I know they run less? This is not what I count, it's what big data tells me."
Originally, these mountain chickens were all wearing a foot ring on their legs, which contained a small chip that matched the network receivers and signal sources distributed around the chicken coop. In this way, the motion data of each running pheasant will be captured by the receiver through the ankle loop, and then pushed in real time to the digital platform behind it, which will analyze and organize the data.
Long Buzhong said, "After hatching for over a month, put on a foot ring for the chicken. We can log in to the mobile platform to see its exercise volume and see how many steps it can walk in a day. In fact, the chicken also has its own 'friend circle' for exercising."
In addition to the steps taken by the mountain chicken, the IoT system of the forest farm will also synchronously transmit the humidity, temperature, light intensity and other numerical values of the day to the platform, gather data from different dimensions, build a chicken file, and form a traceable QR code.
Guo Song, Technical Director of the Running Mountain Chicken Breeding Base in Tianzhu County, Guizhou, said, "The platform records where it came from, how much it exercised, how much it ate every day, and how much it is worth now. One is to trace the source, and the second is to evaluate the assets. Financing can be done based on the total value of a group of chickens or a whole batch of chickens."
Currently, in the first phase of this breeding base project, a total of 50000 chickens will be equipped with foot rings. A pair of earrings and a complete Internet of Things system, through advanced digital technology, connect the entire chain of production, sales, service, and financial enterprises, enabling the industry to achieve transformation and upgrading, injecting strong impetus into rural revitalization.
Li Bochao, Deputy Director of the Party Committee Office of Tianzhu County, Guizhou, said, "In addition to having data on the entire life cycle of mountain chickens, our platform also collects market sales data. Different regions can provide feedback on what type of chickens they like, guiding us to breed according to customer preferences. Empowering breeding with big data, making breeding intelligent and high-quality, and truly realizing the export of Guizhou products."
Nowadays, there are still many industries that utilize digital technology and the integration of the real economy to achieve intelligent development and transformation, such as running mountain chicken farming. The development of digital technology is also advancing rapidly, constantly facing new challenges and achieving new breakthroughs, overcoming new difficulties.
Qi Xiangdong, Vice Chairman of the All China Federation of Industry and Commerce, said, "After the 20th National Congress, we have embarked on a new round of digital technology transformation and digital economy development. There has also been a very good trend in the development of the digital economy, using numbers to equip the traditional economy with new engines."
The future development of digital technology still requires joint efforts from all sectors of society. The Digital Expo serves as a bridge for communication and mutual promotion in exploring and developing new formats in the digital economy era.
The digital economy is continuously promoting the improvement and upgrading of industrial production, social governance, rural revitalization, transportation, and other aspects. According to the Digital China Development Report recently released by the State Internet Information Office, China's big data industry will reach 1.57 trillion yuan in 2022, an increase of 18% year on year, becoming an important force to promote the development of the digital economy. Data creates value, innovation drives the future. Continuously promoting the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy is necessary to inject more new momentum into high-quality development.
