Ministry of Foreign Affairs: The US should not fantasize about dealing with China based on its strength and status, and urge the US to move towards China
On June 16th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin presided over a regular press conference.
Both sides should have a correct view of each other's internal and external policies and strategic intentions, adhere to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, and find the correct way for the two major powers to coexist. This is not only in line with the interests of the two peoples, but also a common expectation of the international community.
The United States regards China as its primary competitor and the most significant geopolitical challenge, which is a serious misjudgment of China. There is some competition between China and the United States in fields such as economy and trade, but we cannot engage in vicious competition where we win or lose, let alone use the guise of competition to contain and suppress China, depriving China of its legitimate right to development. This is not so-called responsible competition, but extremely irresponsible and hegemonic behavior, which will only push China and the United States towards confrontation and divide the world. I would like to emphasize once again that the United States should not fantasize about dealing with China based on its strength and status. China and the United States must develop their relationship on the basis of mutual respect and equal treatment, respect each other's differences in history, culture, social systems, and development paths, and take into account each other's core interests and major concerns.
The US always emphasizes the need for dialogue and communication between China and the US, and the need to install barriers to protect China US relations. The door to dialogue and communication between China and the US is open, and communication between the two countries has never been interrupted. Communication should address the concerns of both sides, have practical results, and solve problems. We cannot harm each other's interests while communicating, and we cannot say one thing at a time. The Chinese side once again urges the US to implement President Biden's positive statement, stop interfering in China's internal affairs and harming China's interests, stop containing and suppressing China, move towards China, remove obstacles, create conditions, and gradually return to the track of stable development in China US relations.
