On the morning of July 26th, in Yuzhou City, Xuchang City, Henan Province, a hazardous chemical transport vehicle carrying 33 tons of pure benzene overturned. After receiving the alarm, local fire and public security departments immediately rushed to the scene for disposal.
After the rescue personnel arrived, they immediately carried out traffic control on the road where the accident occurred and evacuated the residents of nearby villages. After on-site investigation, it was found that pure benzene in the tank truck has started to leak. Due to its hazardous nature, pure benzene is highly flammable and explosive, and the situation is critical. After considering the opinions of all parties, the rescue command center has decided to take disposal measures such as "tank transfer, lifting and straightening, and removing residues". The fire department first sets up water guns on site to dilute the leaked pure benzene at the accident site, reduce the concentration of combustible gases, and prevent the occurrence of a fire. Subsequently, professional technicians carried out the pouring operation of pure benzene in the tank of the accident vehicle while ensuring safety. At the end of tank dumping, the rescue personnel set lifting points at the front and rear of the tank car respectively, and the two lifting cars righted the overturned vehicle under the protection of the spray operation of four water guns on the site. Finally, the environmental protection department carried out residue removal operations on the site.
As of 14:00 on the same day, after nearly 8 hours of emergency response, the hazardous chemical transportation vehicle rollover and leakage accident has been effectively dealt with, and the accident has not caused any casualties.
