According to TASS on July 6th, the Finnish government has indefinitely extended restrictions on the entry of Russian citizens and the issuance of tourist visas for Russians.
According to a report, the Finnish government issued a decree on the 6th stating: "The purpose of the government's fundamental decision is to create all necessary conditions to indefinitely restrict Russian citizens from traveling to Finland in non extreme necessary circumstances, as well as to other countries in the Schengen area through Finland."
Previously, Finnish government news agencies reported that Finnish President Sholi Niinisto and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy under the government have unanimously decided that the current entry restrictions on Russian citizens will continue to take effect and may be further tightened if necessary.
According to reports, Finland introduced travel restrictions for Russian tourists in September 2022, prohibiting unnecessary travel. This ban also applies to travel through Finland to other European countries.

The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that strict restrictions will be imposed on business travelers, property owners, and university students. The latest restriction measures will take effect from midnight on July 10, 2023 and will remain in effect until further notice.
