With the sound of music coming to an end, 90 year old Russian conductor Vladimir Fedoseyev, who is still active on the world classical concert stage, and Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra brought the 2023 Beijing Great Wall Concert to a perfect conclusion.
"I am very happy to come to China, to the Great Wall, to showcase Russian music works to the Chinese audience," Fedoseyev said with emotion. As one of the famous contemporary conductors, Fedoseyev has served as the artistic director and chief conductor of the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra for a long time since 1974.
Fedoseyev stated in an interview with People's Daily that the song "The Great Wall Will Never Fall", composed by Li Xiaotian and performed by tenor Mo Hualun on site, interprets the spiritual connotation of the Great Wall from a musical and cultural perspective, using it to symbolize the indomitable spirit of the Chinese people.
"Music conveys emotions and friendship, constantly merging and developing in mutual communication," said Fedoseyev.
