Beijing, August 8th (Xinhua) - The National Postal Administration recently released the operation status of the express delivery industry in July. According to calculations, the express delivery development index in China was 352.3 in July this year, an increase of 27.9% year-on-year. Among them, the express delivery development scale index was 388.2, a year-on-year increase of 8.8%. From the perspective of sub indicators, the industry maintained a good trend in July, with an expected year-on-year growth of about 8% in express delivery business volume and a year-on-year growth of about 6% in business revenue. The business volume exceeded 10 billion pieces for five consecutive months, and the overall operation was relatively stable.
"The overall operation of the express delivery industry in July has stabilized, thanks to the significant improvement in the supply level of express delivery." Liu Jiang, Director of the Strategic Planning Research Department of the Development Research Center of the National Postal Administration, said that in July, the express delivery development capacity index was 203.8, a year-on-year increase of 0.9 percentage points.
On the one hand, the capacity of trunk transportation continues to increase. In terms of railway transportation, express delivery companies are accelerating the integration with the high-speed rail dual network, opening the "Chengdu Kunming" high-speed rail express train, and improving the capacity of medium and long distance multimodal transportation. In terms of air transportation, the industry's own airlines have opened international routes such as "Ezhou Frankfurt" and "Guangzhou Chennai", and the transfer of cargo routes at Ezhou Huahu Airport has officially begun.
On the other hand, overseas service capabilities have been improved. Express delivery companies are deepening cooperation with overseas enterprises, improving the overseas "self operated warehouse+on-site delivery" service model, enhancing the integrated supply chain logistics service capabilities, and promoting efficient local parcel delivery services with the fastest and most daily delivery in multiple European countries. The activation of Jakarta's smart logistics hub in Indonesia has improved overseas processing efficiency and further enhanced its radiation capabilities in Southeast Asia and other regions.
In terms of service quality, in July, the express delivery service quality index was 560.5, a year-on-year increase of 66.5%. From the perspective of sub indicators, the public satisfaction with express delivery services is expected to be 82.9 points, a year-on-year increase of 1.3 points. The 72 hour on-time rate in key areas is expected to be 84.3%, a year-on-year increase of 6.7 percentage points.
"July is the off-season for express delivery operations, and the industry continues to maintain a recovery trend. From the perspective of the whole year, with the economic recovery improving, there are more favorable conditions supporting the development of express delivery, and the industry is expected to operate within a reasonable range." Liu Jiang said that with the accelerated implementation of the express delivery "entering villages, factories, and going abroad" project, the speed of agricultural product growth, the depth of the service industry chain, and the breadth of international network coverage continue to increase. The scale and volume of express delivery in the second half of the year will reach a new high.
