Experience of Joining the Promise of Youth | Stage | Youth
On the evening of July 28th, the 31st Summer Universiade was grandly opened in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. In recent days, whether it is the intense competition on the field or the hot exchanges outside the field, Chengdu has become a hot "out of the circle" in this summer, making the Universiade a screen like presence. Reno Ed, acting chairman of the International Federation of Sports Federations, gave high praise to the Chengdu Universiade.
Reno Ed said that Chengdu has built a beautiful stage where athletes can shine and shine. During these 12 days, 6500 young athletes from 113 countries and regions around the world showcased their youthful spirit in 49 venues, and their stories will spread throughout the world and inspire many young people. These stories not only include sports achievements, but also friendship, understanding, and peace.
The slogan of this sports meet is "Chengdu Achieves Dreams". "In the past, the host cities also had very good slogans. Now, we have added topics such as green cities, environmental protection, and sustainable development. In the past, the Universiade was just a large-scale event that brought together excellent athletes and outstanding student athletes; now, the Universiade is a comprehensive project that includes culture, sports, education, and various legacies." Reno Ed said.
This competition will leave a great legacy. In previous Universiades, the main challenge faced by the host city was how to maximize the use of the competition venue after the competition. Chengdu has prepared in advance for this. Many competition venues will be open to the public after the competition, and some buildings will be converted into university dormitories. After the Chengdu Universiade, the main media center will be transformed into a library and open to the public. Regarding this, Reno Ed said, "Whether it's the International Olympic Committee, various international sports federations, or the International University of Sport Federation, we can't just stay at organizing a sports event. People will ask what this sports event has left for us, for universities, for the people, and for the country. I believe that the Chengdu Universiade with a holistic planning concept will provide a good answer because it is unique."
Reno Ed has always maintained trust in Chengdu. He said, "Whether based on past experience or current preparation, I firmly believe that this competition will be very smooth and the organizational work will be excellent.". He stated that the team of the International Federation of Sports Federations has already arrived in Chengdu and is collaborating with the organizing committee. Regular progress reports will also be received during executive committee meetings. All staff members of the China University Sports Association, the Chinese government, and the organizing committee are highly trustworthy.
"The international competitions previously held in China have been very successful, and there is no doubt that the Chengdu Organizing Committee will also contribute a wonderful event. During this year's spring meeting of the heads of delegation for the Universiade, the attending representatives have already deeply felt this." He said passionately, "We have witnessed an amazing event together."
Chengdu did not disappoint Reno Ed. He believes that "Chengdu achieves its dreams". "The people of Chengdu are enthusiastic, hospitable, and friendly. They are open minded, willing to communicate, and have an open mindset. I am very certain that people will take these unforgettable memories with them on their way home. Because they have gained a more fulfilling and enriching experience here," said Reno Ed.
"We should feel excited for the future of the Universiade. Here, athletes from all over the world gather together. It is a grand event of youth, unity, and friendship. They gather here, compete with each other with respect, and embrace the long-awaited joy of the Universiade." Reno Ed said, "Being able to meet so many young people from all over the world, even if the time is short, is a very rare experience. This is the magic of the Universiade."
