Striving towards becoming a strong agricultural country, technological innovation is a key variable. With the deepening of a new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation, the digital economy is accelerating its integration into various fields of agricultural production, bringing significant opportunities for China's agricultural modernization. In recent years, China has accelerated technological innovation and promotion in fields such as seed industry and agricultural machinery, continuously empowering the transformation and upgrading of modern agriculture, and laying the foundation for ensuring the stable supply of important agricultural products.
Currently, China's smart agriculture construction has achieved preliminary results. Various regions are promoting the deep integration of new technologies such as animal networking, big data, and cloud platforms with agricultural production, providing a "digital engine" for modern agriculture. In 2022, the contribution rate of agricultural science and technology progress in China reached 62.4%, and the informationization rate of field planting in China exceeded 21.8%. At present, a total of 9 agricultural IoT demonstration provinces have been established and 64 national digital agriculture innovation and application bases have been constructed nationwide. Modern information technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, satellite remote sensing, and Beidou navigation are accelerating their application in crop production. Technologies and equipment such as precision seeding, variable fertilization, smart irrigation, and plant protection drones are beginning to be widely promoted.
With the further integration of digital technology into various aspects of agricultural production, agricultural production will continue to improve quality and efficiency, injecting new vitality and energy into rural economic development.
