Beijing, August 7th (Xinhua) - On August 7th, the General Office of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a rolling video conference on flood prevention, jointly with the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Natural Resources to assess rainfall, flood, and disaster situations. The video was connected to the flood prevention offices of provinces such as Tianjin, Hebei, Jilin, and Heilongjiang to arrange and deploy flood prevention and disaster relief work in key areas.
At present, the National Flood Control Administration still maintains the second level emergency response for flood control in Tianjin and Hebei, and the third level emergency response for flood control in Beijing, Jilin, and Heilongjiang.
The meeting emphasized that the Haihe River Basin should attach great importance to flood evolution and inspection and defense during flood storage and detention, closely monitor key areas, and ensure timely detection of dangerous situations and rapid and efficient disposal; To scientifically coordinate and promote the drainage of waterlogged water in flood storage and detention areas, ensuring the safety of water withdrawal; We need to properly resettle the affected people and ensure their basic living conditions, carry out disaster investigation as soon as possible, and organize the safe return of the people to their homes in a stable and orderly manner. The Northeast region should focus on identifying and fully organizing the search and rescue of missing individuals, and thoroughly and meticulously carry out personnel relocation and resettlement work; We should closely monitor the development trend of rainfall and water conditions, conduct rolling consultations and judgments, strengthen scheduling, and strengthen inspection and defense of key embankment sections; We need to further increase the efforts of drainage work and strive to reduce agricultural losses; We must urgently repair water damaged projects, strengthen the investigation of hidden dangers in geological hazard points, strictly prevent secondary disasters, and effectively prioritize the safety of people's lives and property.
On the evening of the 6th, at the request of the Tianjin Flood Control and Drought Relief Command, the National Flood Control Office and the Emergency Management Department, together with the State Grain and Material Reserve Bureau, urgently transported over 7 million woven bags, 3 million square meters of composite film woven fabric, 700000 square meters of long filament geotextile, 1000 life jackets, 8900 folding metal mesh boxes, and 400 sets of portable strong light lighting units worth more than RMB 1997 million in central emergency rescue and disaster relief supplies to Tianjin.
