Economic Daily: Commercial Photography of Scenic Spots Should Not be Banned | Shooting | Economic Daily
Recently, after the suspension of commercial filming in places such as the Palace Museum and the Labor People's Cultural Palace in Beijing, scenic spots such as the Summer Palace have also stated that they will increase their management of commercial filming.
These scenic spots are prohibited from commercial filming for two main reasons: firstly, for the purpose of protecting ancient buildings and cultural relics, to prevent accidental damage to precious cultural heritage by filming equipment; Secondly, for the needs of safety management, commercial photography sometimes occupies the visiting passages and public spaces for a long time, which not only hinders other tourists from taking photos, but may also cause congestion and pose safety hazards.
How did commercial photography become a popular business? The "filming" effect of the scenic area is already good, and with the help of professional clothing, makeup, props, and scenery, the atmosphere will immediately be filled. In recent years, the scale of the commercial auction market has continued to grow, attracting many entrants and forming a mature industrial chain.
It is necessary for scenic spots to strengthen the management of commercial photography. Since the beginning of this year, the tourism market has recovered, and there have been more commercial auctions in scenic areas. Some commercial photography formations are not small, and various photography tools and clothing props can fill a small cart. In order to achieve the shooting effect, it may be repeated for more than ten to twenty minutes at one point. If the commercial auction behavior is disorderly and crowded, it is indeed easy to cause risks and hazards, affecting the normal order of tourism.
Strict management should be implemented, and commercial photography in scenic areas should not be banned. Commercial photography is not only a means for businesses to make profits, but also a need for many tourists to pursue beauty and showcase themselves. Relevant departments should make scientific arguments and judgments, introduce corresponding management standards, and prohibit commercial photography of scenic spots or certain areas within scenic spots that do have cultural heritage needs and spatial conditions do not allow; For most parks and scenic spots with conditions, efforts should be made to meet the needs of tourists. There should also be a clear definition of which behaviors belong to commercial auctions.
Balancing the demand for commercial photography and tourist experience requires scenic spots to put effort into management details, such as clarifying which special equipment is prohibited from entering the area that may affect the scenic spot or other tourists, or temporarily controlling commercial photography during specific time periods such as crowded holidays. Nowadays, some scenic spots limit a certain number of filming teams to enter on a daily basis, some require special appointments for reporting, and some even open up dedicated shooting locations... These are all beneficial attempts. In summary, the demand for commercial photography and scenic area management are not incompatible and cannot be banned. They need to be standardized and guided.
