After more than a year of renovation, improvement, and ecological restoration, the once dirty and disorderly barren hill was officially opened to the public in April this year. Don't be fooled by how beautiful this place is now, it wasn't like this before. More than a year ago, this place was a narrow path with layers of soil ridges overgrown with weeds. Some residents also opened up some orchards and vegetable fields, but due to their spontaneous formation over time, it became relatively desolate. In order to improve this situation, starting from April last year, the local government began ecological restoration of Fushan, carrying out rectification work such as demolishing illegal green areas, greening exposed land, and constructing greenways to bring green to the people. In the northern section of Fushan Forest Park, multiple landscapes such as greenways, streams, small bridges, and amusement parks have been created, which can be said to be unique scenery. Among them, there are 20 unique landscapes, including Taohuawu, Tanyou Valley, and Wencui Lake, which were originally small ponds for storing water and preventing floods. After renovation, various landscapes were connected by hydrophilic trails, forming the current lakeside activity space. The water is clear and the shore is green, with koi carp at the bottom and black swans, big white geese, and green headed ducks on the water surface. On the basis of the original vegetation, various types of trees such as Jin Gui, Shan Apricot, Jin Ye Yu, and Cedar are planted on the mountain. There are over 4000 trees, and wherever you go, they are shaded by green trees, making Fushan increasingly beautiful.
We know that Qingdao is a mountainous city. As early as the 1980s, some mountain parks were gradually built and opened up. However, over time, problems such as extensive park environments, lack of activity venues, and inadequate basic supporting facilities have gradually emerged in some parks. Last year, the local government coordinated the living and production space and began implementing ecological restoration for Fushan. Fushan covers an area of approximately 698.98 hectares, spanning three districts of Qingdao: North, Laoshan, and South. It is equivalent to the size of 978 standard football fields and plays an important ecological role. Originally, a mountain was divided into three districts, which were not compatible with each other and had many dead ends. After the restoration and renovation, the outer fence of over 10000 meters was gone, replaced by a 13.5 kilometer green road around the mountain, like a colorful ribbon winding along the undulating terrain, allowing citizens to play smoothly along the way. There are a total of 35 entrances and exits built around the park, and greenery and lighting have been carried out on both sides of the entrance and greenway. Supporting facilities such as public toilets, post stations, and amusement facilities have been completed.
Not only Fushan, but also Taiping Mountain in Qingdao has a new look. The 7.9 kilometer ring greenway connects Zhongshan Park, Zoo, Botanical Garden, and Beech Forest Park, making the problem of isolated and disconnected parks a thing of the past. Through aerial photography, we can see that in the section of Zelin Park, a rainbow boardwalk painted in 72 colors has attracted many citizens and tourists to come and check in.
