According to the plan, the nuclear wastewater from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is approximately 1.34 million tons. On August 30th, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin reiterated that China has always ensured the safety of embassies and consulates of various countries in China and the legitimate rights and interests of foreign citizens in China in accordance with the law. We also urge Japan to ensure the safety of Chinese embassies and consulates in Japan, as well as corporate citizens and tourists visiting Japan.
Wang Wenbin emphasized that the root cause of the current situation lies in the Japanese government ignoring strong doubts from the international community and unilaterally forcefully launching the discharge of Fukushima nuclear wastewater into the sea, which poses unpredictable risks to the global marine environment and human health, causing widespread outrage in the international community. The Japanese side should immediately stop discharging nuclear wastewater into the sea and respond responsibly to the concerns of the international community.
