This type of soil belongs to moderately saline alkali soil with a relatively high salt content, which can actually affect the yield of crops. So the initial wheat yield grown here was also relatively low, only over 100 kilograms. Although the soil environment is unique, in fact, such saline alkali land is not completely incapable of growing crops, and still has certain development potential. So, in order to increase wheat production, various measures have also been taken locally.
Firstly, it is the selection of wheat seeds. The one I am holding now is "Jiemai 19", a wheat variety specially developed by agricultural technicians for the characteristics of dry alkali land. It is also the main type of dry alkali wheat planted in Huanghua City at present.
