Red umbrella, white pole
After finishing, lie down on the board together
You must have heard of cases of accidental ingestion of poisonous mushrooms and poisoning
Previously, there were more occurrences in the Yunnan Guizhou Sichuan region
But this year
There are also many people in Nanjing who have been poisoned by poisonous mushrooms
What's going on here?
"This year may be different from previous years, with more rainfall and hot weather, mushrooms may have entered a period of vigorous growth. In previous years, there were very few cases of toxic mushroom poisoning in the Nanjing area. This year, through the foodborne disease monitoring system, we found that multiple medical institutions have reported cases of toxic mushroom poisoning, some were collected in open spaces in residential areas, some were collected in parks, and some were collected in rural fields. After eating, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea often appear." said Guo Baofu, Chief Physician of the Nutrition and Food Hygiene Department of the Nanjing Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
On social media platforms, many ordinary people share their secret to identifying edible wild mushrooms and poisonous mushrooms. Is it really reliable?
"To give a simple example, Qingplei Umbrella is the most common type of poisoning caused by gastroenteritis type poisonous mushrooms. Its color appears to be the most common and common type of mushroom, which is basically the same color. Therefore, it is unreliable to distinguish by color. Some colors are not always bright, but they are still edible mushrooms, not poisonous mushrooms." said Guo Baofu, chief physician of the Nutrition and Food Hygiene Department of the Nanjing Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Some people also share tips: non-toxic mushrooms grow in clean grasslands and pine trees, while poisonous mushrooms grow in dark and damp places. Disease control experts say this is also wrong! For example, many poisonous mushrooms, such as the White Poison Umbrella, grow in clean forests and on the ground.
"It is also said that when garlic is collected and boiled at home, as long as it remains black, it will not be poisonous, and so on. These are all unreliable because not very professional people, it is very difficult to distinguish whether it is poisonous mushrooms from morphology." said Guo Baofu, Chief Physician of the Nutrition and Food Hygiene Department of the Nanjing Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Disease control experts also remind us not to think that mushroom poisoning is caused by undercooked mushrooms. The toxins in wild mushrooms cannot be removed by high temperatures. To prevent mushroom poisoning, there is only one reliable method, which is not to pick or eat wild mushrooms.
What if I get poisoned?
1
Immediately induce vomiting
You can first ask the person who accidentally ingested it to take a large amount of warm saline water, and then stimulate the throat with your fingers to induce vomiting, in order to reduce the absorption of toxins.
But pregnant women should be cautious when using emetics; If the poisoned person becomes unconscious, it is not advisable to induce vomiting artificially, as it can easily cause suffocation.
2
Immediately call for ambulance or medical attention
People who have consumed the same mushrooms together, regardless of whether they have contracted the disease or not, need to immediately go to the hospital for examination and treatment.
3
Retain poisonous mushroom samples
The remaining mushrooms that have been consumed should be retained for inspection to identify the cause of poisoning.
