"Digital+Culture" allows you to travel through history in one second, and digital technology empowers the future
CCTV News: At this year's Service Trade Fair, from big data, cloud computing to blockchain, major exhibition areas are competing to showcase the cutting-edge technology. New technologies, achievements, and applications are constantly emerging around the service industry, and many scenes have caught the attention of our press conference team at the Service Trade Fair, exclaiming that "it can still be like this"! Next, let's follow our reporter to see what new technologies will empower the future we are experiencing today.
CCTV reporter Sun Yan: Service Trade Journalist Team, "Traveling" to Beijing today. Come to this booth in Hall 1 and see the immersive multi scene experience space brought by technologies such as naked eye 3D and digital twins. Digital technology allows me to stroll along the Beijing Central Axis at the Service Trade Fair venue, and also allows me to shuttle to the Mogao Caves in just one second, experiencing the past and present of the Dunhuang Scripture Cave.
Sun Yan, a reporter from CCTV: Look, I am now in the virtual world of the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang. This is the most legendary scripture cave in the entire Mogao Grottoes. Here, millimeter level high-precision reproductions of the scripture cave and its cultural relics are made. For example, I can clearly see the dust on the bricks and stones, and even the texture and mottled marks of the murals are very clear, as if I can touch the cultural relics with my hand. At the same time, the sunlight at 10 o'clock in the morning shines on the Mogao Caves in the virtual world, and being inside it is particularly natural and realistic. Of course, I can also turn on the lights with just one click, illuminating the previously dimly lit corridors, murals, and more, making it more vivid than a field trip. And most notably, this virtual world has for the first time restored buildings that no longer exist, allowing us to rediscover the long lost Three Realms Temple of the Northern Song Dynasty. Strolling through the scripture cave, I can still hear the wind chimes collected from the nine story pagoda of Mogao Grottoes, the wind of Mingsha Mountain, and the sound of ancient music. The history of a thousand years ago is vividly presented to us with the blessing of technology.
What technology is used to achieve "high restoration" and "immersive" digital scripture caves?
Deng Dafu, the person in charge of product research and development: more than 30000 photos were taken about 1600 meters from the cliff face of the entire Sutra Cave, and it was rebuilt. The current technology can achieve millimeter level restoration, and even the small carved stone carving on it can be exactly the same as in reality. Real time simulation of the entire reflection, diffuse reflection, and refraction phenomenon of each light particle hitting different concave and convex surfaces on a physical object, that is, the restoration of what it looks like, and the ability to change the entire lighting in real time.
The staff told reporters that the international community is also interested in the latest exploration of China's digital cultural heritage field. On the tenth anniversary of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the "Digital Sutra Cave" will also be launched in English, French and other multilingual versions. Digital technology will allow cultural exchanges to cross more borders. Of course, in addition to the field of cultural heritage, these digital technologies can also be applied to more fields, including technology exploration, physical industries and automation, autonomous driving, smart healthcare, film and television, and more.
CCTV reporter Sun Yan: Look, I am now back at the Service Trade Fair from Dunhuang. In the exhibition area, I can play the piano with a digital pianist, experience the latest technology in the metaverse, and even see digital humans incarnating various characters such as customer service, lawyers, and teachers. The scenes I used to see in science fiction movies are becoming reality here. More importantly, these "smart" Chinese digital technologies are accelerating their export to more countries. Since the beginning of this year, the import and export scale of digitally deliverable services in China has increased by over 12%, with export services growing by 16%. It can be said that the digital transformation of China's service trade is exerting greater influence on the international stage and injecting new momentum into global service trade.
