According to a report by the Japan Broadcasting Association Television on June 6th, Tokyo Electric Power Company began injecting seawater into the pipeline in the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant's contaminated water discharge tunnel on the afternoon of June 5th local time. At present, approximately 6000 tons of seawater have been injected into the pipelines inside the discharge tunnel. These seawater will be used to further dilute the soon to be discharged nuclear contaminated water.
As of the 6th, the tunnel engineering of the sea discharge project has been basically completed, and the storage tank and other equipment used to store nuclear contaminated water treated by multi nuclide removal equipment have not yet been completed. These reservoirs will connect to the sea discharge tunnel. Tokyo Electric Power Company stated that the entire project is scheduled to be completed by the end of this month.

The Japanese government, disregarding domestic and international opposition, claims to discharge Fukushima nuclear contaminated water in the spring and summer of this year. Japanese and foreign professionals have expressed opposition and concerns about this approach, believing that it is extremely irresponsible, will damage the marine ecological environment, endanger human health, and the degree of harm is unpredictable.
