Demonstration Experiment of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on Soybean Post Wheat Replanting with No Tillage and Precision Drip Irrigation Technology for Soybean | Experiment | No Tillage
Urumqi, July 8th (Xinhua) - "The depth of sowing is moderate, the soil moisture is suitable, and it is expected to sprout and break through within a week." On July 7th, after inspecting the first soybean field that uses no tillage precision sowing technology for replanting, Xia Hui, director of the Grain Crop Research Office of the Agricultural Science Institute of the Fourth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, had more confidence in the new technology of no tillage precision sowing to promote soybean yield and efficiency.
It is understood that in recent years, the Agricultural Science Institute and Agricultural Technology Extension Station of the Fourth Division have conducted multiple demonstrations and experiments. Based on the selection of excellent and suitable varieties and the implementation of key technologies such as comprehensive prevention and control, this year they have started the demonstration work of no tillage, precision sowing, and soybean replanting after wheat, achieving large-scale balanced yield increase from point to surface.
"On July 3rd, we conducted an experimental demonstration of the no tillage and precision sowing technology for soybean in the previous winter wheat field of the 68th Regiment 2nd Company. The selected soybean variety was Heihe 45, and due to the use of no tillage technology, the sowing period was advanced by 3 to 7 days compared to previous years." Xia Hui said, "The biggest highlight of this year's demonstration is the simultaneous use of no tillage and drip irrigation technology. After selecting seeds and precision sowing, it can also achieve precision fertilization and irrigation, saving costs and increasing efficiency by 20% per mu."
"Directly carrying out no tillage and straw covering, soil moisture grabbing with drip irrigation and sowing in the original winter wheat stubble land not only saves the planting cost of machinery, but also saves the amount of seeds and improves the yield of soybeans," said Cao Xinyu, the person in charge of the Agricultural Development Service Center of the 68th Regiment.

The data shows that the total soybean planting area of the Fourth Division in 2022 is 59800 mu, with an average yield of 220 kilograms per mu, including an average yield of 300 kilograms per mu for regular soybeans and 200 kilograms per mu for repeated soybeans.
"The application of no tillage and precision sowing technology after wheat will play a very good role in improving soybean yield per mu and implementing the soybean revitalization plan." Yao Wenfei, the director of the Agricultural Technology Promotion Station of the Fourth Division, said that in the next step, the station and the professional technical personnel of the Agricultural Science Institute will continue to increase the field management and supervision work of replanting soybean seedlings and the entire growth period, in order to achieve the goal of double improvement in soybean area and yield.
