Frugality and simplicity mean a moderate, thrifty, and reasonable way of life, containing moral qualities of taking pride in hard work and shame on extravagance and indulgence. A frugal habit and style can make a person free from external influences and become a free and dignified person. On the contrary, extravagant enjoyment not only wastes resources, but also corrodes people's minds and weakens their willpower. Looking back at the wise countries and families of the past, it has been achieved through diligence, frugality, and extravagance. The attitude of a political party, a nation, or a country towards frugality and waste not only reflects its value pursuit, but also foreshadows its development prospects. In 1936, the American journalist Edgar Snow visited Yan'an and was shocked by the industrious, thrifty and simple style of the CPC people. He felt a special power from the CPC people and thought it was the "light of rejuvenation". The CPC finally defeated the Kuomintang's "Xi'an style" by virtue of its excellent "Yan'an style" and won the victory of the new democratic revolution. Frugality and simplicity, as well as avoiding extravagance, are the heirlooms of our party and an important guarantee for its continuous development and growth along the way. Generation after generation of the CPC has led the Chinese people to create remarkable achievements by practicing frugality and forging ahead.
Work style is related to the cause of the Party and affects its image. A good work style is a powerful force that unites the hearts of the Party and the people. Today, our material living standards are constantly improving, but the idea of hard work, thrift, and thrift cannot be lost. It should be noted that China's basic national conditions, which are still in and will remain in the primary stage of socialism for a long time, have not changed. China's international status as the world's largest developing country has not changed, and the problem of imbalanced and insufficient development in China remains prominent. It is a long-term and arduous task for over 1.4 billion people to enter modernization as a whole. Party members and cadres must cultivate a frugal and simple style and vigorously promote the spirit of hard work and struggle.In response to the repeated prohibition of formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism, and extravagance in some places and departments, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has solved the problem by formulating and implementing the eight point regulations of the central government, persistently rectifying the "four winds", and improving the Party's political and social conduct. Embarking on a new journey of comprehensively building a socialist modernized country, facing unprecedented risks and challenges, it is even more necessary to carry forward the spirit of hard work and struggle, and inherit the fine tradition of diligence, thrift, and thrift.
