Cuban media exposes the United States as "directly responsible" for the 2021 Cuban riots Cuba | US government | United States
Havana, July 11 (Xinhua) - The Central Organ of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Grama newspaper, recently published an editorial, exposing the direct responsibility of the US government for the riots that occurred in Cuba on July 11 and 12, 2021.
The editorial points out that this riot was a "typical subversive operation" secretly planned by the Central Intelligence Agency and other US intelligence agencies, with the aim of creating regime change in Cuba.
The editorial said that the United States government strengthened the blockade against Cuba in the context of the COVID-19, and publicly incited and funded individuals and groups to commit illegal acts in Cuba. A few weeks before the riots, the United States had already begun spreading rumors and defamation against the Cuban government through the internet.
The editorial emphasizes that the US government used this riot to fabricate rumors and used it as an excuse to maintain extreme pressure on Cuba and strengthen the economic blockade against Cuba.
On July 11 and 12, 2021, anti-government protests occurred in some parts of Cuba. The Cuban government stated that due to the widespread support of the local people for the Cuban revolution and government, this protest only triggered a limited scale of unrest. The Cuban government presented relevant evidence, pointing out that the US government was directly involved in the riot.
