On the afternoon of June 17th, the 15th Cross Strait Forum · Cross Strait Film and Television Season was held in Xiamen. In order to better build a docking platform for cross-strait film and television industry projects, this season focused for the first time on creating a promotion conference for film and television docking projects, integrating the latest film and television project information from both sides, sharing creative resources from both sides, discovering innovative forces in film and television from both sides, and promoting the integrated development of the film and television industry from both sides.
With the theme of "Joining Hands to Innovate Light and Shadow for the Future", the organizing committee solicited nearly 100 cross-strait themed film and television projects planned to be filmed, produced or executed between 2023 and 2025 in the early stage, and organized experts to select "Chasing Light Projects" and "Special Recommended Projects by the Organizing Committee". A total of 20 projects were shortlisted for this promotion meeting.
Yan Ni, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Administration of Radio and Television, expressed at the promotion meeting that she hopes to use this platform to successfully share good ideas and showcase good projects, thereby promoting more quantity and higher quality cooperation in cross-strait film and television projects, and contributing greater radio, television, and audiovisual strength to promote spiritual harmony between compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Some project representatives came to the site to share their creative intentions and project characteristics. This includes the TV drama "When the East Wind Blows" with the theme of joint resistance against Japan by compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the inspirational urban drama "Erythrina Blossoms" that tells the story of young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait meeting and getting to know each other on the mainland, the historical film "Taiwan 1913" that showcases Sun Yat sen's four revolutionary activities in Taiwan, and the documentary "Cross Strait Family Letters" and other film and television projects planned to be jointly produced by the Fujian Provincial Radio and Television Group Satellite TV Center in collaboration with Taiwan documentary institutions.
It is reported that the 20 projects shortlisted for this promotion are from different platforms, production institutions, and individuals on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The themes and types of the works are different, but they all tell the same Chinese story in the same language and culture on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, embodying the same national identity, cultural identity, and national identity.
