Creative Video | Georgian Athlete's Wonderful Journey to "Chase" Giant Pandas | Chengdu | | Georgia
Chengdu, August 7th (Xinhua) - The 31st Summer Universiade is nearing its end, with the "Panda fever" accompanying the "Universiade fever" for over a decade. Without exception, foreign athletes interviewed by the reporter said that what they most want to see in Chengdu is the Chinese national treasure giant panda.
In the hometown of giant pandas in Chengdu, Georgian swimmer George Glashvili showcases his pursuit of giant pandas through a creative video——
George is a senior student majoring in Economics and Management at Tbilisi Free University, and he likes to be called Jiji by everyone. In the video, Ji Ji is in a bamboo forest, lying on the ground and brushing his mobile phone in imitation of the giant panda in Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. He aspires to see the giant pandas that he yearns for day and night. He walked through the streets with coach George Silbyladze, searching for giant pandas. In Kuanzhai Alley, with the guidance of two "panda friends", they finally met the "panda cat" at the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. Finally, the two of them "tracked" a struggling giant panda and arrived at the top floor of the Chengdu International Financial Center to take a photo with the large outdoor art installation "Wall Climbing Giant Panda".
After the creative video "Let's Go, Find the Giant Panda!" was broadcasted, it received nearly 800000 views on overseas social media within 48 hours. The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, Consul General Zhang Meifang in Belfast, and Cultural Counselor Zhang Heqing from the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan all shared it. A netizen left a message saying, "It's really cute." "This is a national treasure of China." "I've had the privilege of being there twice."
Jiji and Xierbilaze were extremely excited when they saw the giant panda, saying that this experience will never be forgotten. They describe giant pandas as "lazy, cute, and always cooking" - truly capturing the key to "rolling charm".
Ji Ji gave a thumbs up for China's conservation and breeding of giant pandas: "Without the measures taken by China, perhaps giant pandas would have disappeared years ago... They are still very rare now, so every tourist wants to see them. It's great to see them eating bamboo or sleeping soundly."
Xierbilaze said that he was fortunate enough to lead a team to participate in this year's Universiade in Chengdu. "I have heard of it a long time ago. This is the hometown of giant pandas, and I am very grateful to have the opportunity to see them with my own eyes.".
He also said that he really likes China. "I have many friends who have come to China and they have a good evaluation of China. But what I have seen with my own eyes is even better than what they said by one million times... I think this is the second country I like the most besides Georgia."
