Cool summer! The national summer electricity demand is guaranteed in this way ->Resources | Electricity | Demand
With the arrival of the dog days, the demand for electricity is further increasing, and various regions are taking measures to ensure summer electricity demand.
Over 50 nuclear power units maintain full power generation
More than 50 nuclear power units across the country maintain full power generation, providing strong support for the summer electricity peak.
China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) generates over 600 million kilowatt hours of clean energy per day, and can achieve full peak output for 25 nuclear power units in operation. Among them, the Fuqing Nuclear Power Plant located in Fujian Province, after optimizing the overhaul process of four units, delivered power to the grid 36 days ahead of schedule and generated an additional 959 million kilowatt hours of electricity. Since the commissioning of Units 5 and 6 of Fuqing Nuclear Power, the world's first demonstration project of Hualong 1, a total of 30 billion kilowatt hours of safe power generation have been achieved.
At the same time, the cumulative power generation of the 27 operational nuclear power units of CGN reached 113.292 billion kilowatt hours, an increase of 14.21% compared to the first half of 2022. Among them, 14 nuclear power units located in Guangdong Province generated 59.313 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the first half of the year, an increase of 6.26% compared to the first half of 2022.
Min Xianyi, the shift supervisor of the operation department of CGN Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, stated that as of June 30, 2023, the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant has provided a cumulative power supply of 305.307 billion kilowatt hours to Hong Kong, continuously delivering clean electricity to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and ensuring economic and social development.
The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant has also actively carried out special work such as equipment inspections, and adjusted daily work plans for high-temperature weather, staggered on-site work arrangements, to ensure stable transmission of clean electricity.
Creating an adjustable "resource pool"
Accurate regulation to ensure power supply
Ensuring power supply during peak summer season is not only inseparable from the perseverance of workers, but also from targeted measures. Advance layout and planning in multiple regions, through energy storage, energy consumption management and other means, to create an adjustable power load resource pool, and to effectively ensure power supply through resource aggregation and precise regulation.
Today, the Ziyun Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Station in Guizhou Province has been completed and put into operation. This is the first centralized large-scale electrochemical energy storage power station in Guizhou Province, providing additional support for local peak summer electricity supply. As of now, Guizhou Province has built a 1.4 million kilowatt demand response resource pool.
Wang Ning, General Manager of the Water Resources and New Energy Department of the System Department of Southern Power Grid Guizhou Power Grid Company: The installation of 400000 kilowatts of electrochemical energy storage power stations will be put into operation, which is equivalent to adding a giant "power bank" to the power grid, greatly solving the problems of randomness and volatility in new energy generation, and making the power grid regulation more efficient and stable.
In addition, electrochemical energy storage power stations can also participate in peak shaving and frequency regulation of the power grid, meeting the requirements of economic and social development for high-quality, safe, reliable and efficient electricity consumption.
In Dongying, Shandong, in order to better regulate peak load, flexible air conditioning regulation and renovation will be implemented in 55 public institutions throughout the city. At the same time, data will be exchanged with the energy consumption supervision platform of public institutions throughout the city, further improving the level of energy conservation informatization, refinement, and intelligence.
Li Peng, the Marketing Department Manager of State Grid Lijin County Power Supply Company: Through intelligent data analysis, guide public places such as libraries and youth palaces to adjust cooling according to the number of people flowing. This flexible regulation not only saves energy but also plays a role in peak shaving regulation.
Aggregating "source network load storage" resources
Enhance power supply guarantee capability
In order to better cope with the summer electricity peak, various regions are also increasing efforts to allocate resources from power sources, power grids, loads, and energy storage to alleviate the power supply pressure on the power grid and meet the electricity needs of production and daily life.
Recently, China's first smart energy management system for charging, storage, and discharge was put into use in Shenzhen. This is a management platform that aggregates power resources such as charging facilities, new energy storage, and 5G base stations. Every kilowatt hour of electricity can be tracked one by one from where it comes and where it goes.
Yu Jing, Deputy Director of Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission: The system has full access to distributed resources, including photovoltaic, energy storage power stations, charging piles, 5G energy storage base stations, vehicle network interaction, electric bicycle charging and swapping cabinets, and data centers. In collaboration with the virtual power plant management platform, the distributed resources are observable, measurable, controllable, and precisely dynamically regulated.
In Haining, Zhejiang, local power personnel precisely regulate the local electricity load through the integrated new power system of "source network load storage". This system gathers adjustable power resources such as photovoltaic, energy storage, and air conditioning loads from the entire city, and can perform one click peak shaving.
Shi Haifeng, Director of the Power Dispatching and Control Sub center of State Grid Haining Power Supply Company: Through digital means, the previously scattered and unpredictable resources are now integrated into the system. We can see the status of resources on all sides, and the system will more efficiently apply and allocate these resources more reasonably and accurately to meet the electricity needs of production and life.
