On July 21, Xinhua News Agency reported that Comrade Yan Mingfu, former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Civil Affairs and member of the Party Group, passed away in Beijing on July 3, 2023 due to illness at the age of 92.
After the death of Comrade Yan Mingfu, relevant central leaders expressed condolences in different ways and expressed condolences to his relatives.
Yan Mingfu was born in November 1931 in Haicheng, Liaoning. He joined the revolutionary work in December 1946 and joined the CPC in December 1949. From December 1949 to June 1978, he worked as a translator at the All China Federation of Trade Unions, the General Office of the Central Committee, and the Central Compilation and Translation Bureau. From June 1978 to November 1983, he served as the Deputy Editor in Chief and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of China Encyclopedia Publishing House. From November 1983 to November 1985, he served as the Deputy Secretary General of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and a member of the Party Group of the government. From November 1985 to November 1987, he served as the Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee. From November 1987 to November 1990, he successively served as the Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee, Secretary of the Central Secretariat, Vice Chairman of the 7th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee. From May 1991 to May 1997, he served as the Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs and a member of the Party Group. Retired in May 1997.
Yan Mingfu is a member of the 13th Central Committee of the CPC and a standing member of the 6th National Committee of the CPPCC.
