Fulfilling the "Youth Dream" Together

It is the requirement of the times and the historical necessity for the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to be congenial and speak with one voice, vigorously strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and work together as pioneers and pioneers in promoting Chinese path to modernization.

In 2005, at the age of 15, Shou Yanxuan came to mainland China for the first time with his father. His father said to him earnestly, "We are Chinese, and our ancestors are from Zhuji, Zhejiang. You must remember this." In 2007, encouraged by his father, Shou Yanxuan came to mainland China for development. In 2021, Shou Yanxuan and Xiamen University Education Development Foundation jointly initiated the establishment of the "Cross Strait Medical Talent Training and Exchange Fund", aiming to provide a more convenient platform for cross-strait folk medical cooperation and integrated development. In 2023, under the guidance of the Siming District Federation of Trade Unions in Xiamen City, Shouyanxuan organized the establishment of the first Taiwan compatriots union in Fujian Province, the Xiamen Siming Taiwan compatriots United Union, which has attracted more than 300 Taiwanese compatriots to join.
Youth is just right, it never disappoints youth. There are still many young people from Taiwan who come to the mainland like Shouyanxuan to achieve their dreams. Li Weiguo is a well-known name in the Taiwanese youth maker circle on the mainland. In 2017, he joined the Cross Strait Youth Entrepreneurship Incubator - Huacan Workshop · Beijing Space as a partner and general manager. In recent years, Huacan Factory has attracted over a thousand companies, including 95 Taiwanese companies. Li Weiguo said that watching a Taiwanese youth achieve great development in mainland China, his heart is filled with excitement and joy.
It is understood that the 15th Cross Strait Forum has provided over 1200 employment opportunities and over 1000 internship and training positions for Taiwanese youth, promoting the signing of multiple agreements on rural revitalization, Taiwanese youth entrepreneurship, technology, education, culture, and financial industry cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. As of now, Taiwan's youth have accumulated over 40000 internships, employment, and entrepreneurship in Fujian, and 5776 Taiwanese compatriots have obtained national vocational qualification certificates or vocational skill level certificates for skilled personnel in Fujian.
Play the "fusion card" well
In recent years, Taiwanese compatriots and businessmen have felt that studying, working, living, and investing in mainland China have become increasingly convenient, and the areas and scope of equal treatment are constantly expanding, with a stronger sense of gain and integration.
"The mainland actively creates conditions for Taiwanese compatriots to participate widely in economic and social construction, and Taiwanese enterprises have gained increasingly broad development space. The integration and development between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are accelerating, which is a good opportunity for the development of Taiwanese businessmen." said Wu Jiaying, Executive Vice President of the National Taiwan Compatriot Investment Enterprise Association, which has participated in more than ten sessions of the Taiwan Strait Forum.
Pingtan is the first in mainland China to achieve full coverage of direct flights to major ports in Taiwan, and Putian has become an important transshipment base for bulk commodities such as iron ore; Life services are more convenient. Fujian has established the first integrated professional qualification service center for Taiwanese compatriots in mainland China, and pioneered the provincial-level customized medical insurance "Eight Min Insurance" for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan compatriots. The Taiwanese medical insurance service center has been promoted throughout the province. Li Minggui, Executive Vice President of the National Taiwan Enterprise Federation, introduced that in the 10 years from 2012 to 2022, the cumulative number of Taiwanese investment projects in mainland China increased from 88000 to 129700, and the actual use of Taiwanese capital in mainland China increased from 57.05 billion US dollars to 72 billion US dollars. 60 Taiwanese enterprises have successively listed and raised funds on the mainland capital market.
Peace, development, exchange, and cooperation are the common aspirations of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and are in line with their common interests. During the 15th Cross Strait Forum, a series of rich and colorful cultural activities such as Mazu Cultural Activity Week, Cross Strait Shipbuilding Culture Seminar, Cross Strait Film and Television Season, Cross Strait Intangible Cultural Heritage Performance Exchange, Cross Strait Archival Culture Exchange, etc. not only demonstrated the historical and cultural similarities between the two sides, but also narrowed the spiritual distance between the people on both sides, building a "heart to heart bridge" for integrated development.
Wu Jingguo, Chairman of the Olympic Sports and Education Foundation, was born in mainland China and lived in Taiwan during his youth. Now, he is committed to promoting sports and cultural exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. Wu Jingguo candidly stated that he has been influenced by Chinese classics since childhood, and traditional Chinese culture has long been deeply ingrained in his heart.
At the Cross Strait Same Root Culture and Art Festival, more than 400 Taiwanese compatriots came to the mainland for exchanges. Jiang Erxiong, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial People's Congress, said that Fujian and Taiwan share the same roots, culture, and lineage. The excellent traditional Chinese culture is the spiritual home that both sides of the Taiwan Strait jointly guard. The art festival also invited more than 50 handicraft masters from various levels of arts and crafts, representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage of various types of handicrafts, technical experts, skill masters, and other handicraft masters, showcasing nearly 300 high-quality mainland folk handicrafts such as ceramics, lacquer, wood carving, jade carving, and fabric art, and nearly 100 works of 21 Taiwanese masters.
The 15th Cross Strait People's Forum released the "Cross Strait People's Declaration", which mentioned the need to actively carry out activities such as tracing roots and forming alliances, so as to closely connect the hearts of the people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
