Claiming to "let everyone know the truth," Trump promised to declassify the Kennedy assassination case file after re-election
According to Yahoo News, former US President Trump recently made a promise on his personal social media platform Truth Social, "If I succeed in the 2024 election, I will publicly disclose all remaining confidential records related to the assassination of President Kennedy." According to NBC News, a bill announcing the Kennedy assassination case had previously been unanimously passed by Congress. The bill requires the disclosure of all records related to assassination by October 26, 2017. According to the law, the President has the power to decide whether to publish documents, or to determine the number of documents to be published. But subsequent presidents used this power to delay the release of documents.
It is worth mentioning that in 2017, former US President Trump made a similar promise on Twitter, stating that "archives related to the Kennedy assassination will be made public." In fact, he did supervise the publication of over 19000 documents, but there are still some remaining materials that have not been disclosed.
According to the process, the Biden administration was supposed to release the remaining files in 2021, 2022, and 2023, but the White House has been hesitant to do so.
