"In Xiayuan Village, Qianzhen Town, Nanping City, Fujian Province, when it comes to Ye Jingjing, the villagers all praise her. Under her lean appearance, many people do not realize that she is a post-90s generation.
In July 2015, at the call of the Xiayuan Village Party Branch, Ye Jingjing, who had graduated for two years, transferred her clothing store in the county town and returned to the village to participate in the election of the village committee. "At that time, I didn't think too much, just thought that I was a child from the countryside, born, raised, and dedicated. After being elected, I made up my mind to do my best to serve the villagers of Xiayuan Village." Ye Jingjing said.
Due to her youth, when she first started working, Ye Jingjing's opinions were often not taken seriously by the elders and aunties. However, now the villagers cannot do without her and come to her if there is anything they need.
"Internet+local specialties" is the first step of Ye Jingjing. Local villagers have little knowledge of the internet, let alone believe that these local specialties can be sold. So, Ye Jingjing took the lead and began to work. She repeatedly studied the characteristics and patterns of live streaming sales on social media platforms, and even sold a pot of homemade maltose for seven to eight hundred yuan. Afterwards, village women began to actively seek her help.
How to drive more sisters to become rich? Ye Jingjing first includes villagers who have done e-commerce, even if they know a little, in the "Village Taobao", develops together, researches packaging, and plans activities.
In November 2015, "Village Taobao" was established in Xiayuan Village, and local specialties became the main focus of the season. Agricultural and sideline products have been put on shelves one after another, and potatoes, millennial tomatoes, tea, seasonal fruits, etc. are sold throughout the country. Dried goods such as bamboo shoots can be sold all year round.
"My family used to have a low income. Since I joined the village, I have worked hard with my sisters. Now I have pocket money to support my family," said Lin Min, a villager in Xiayuan Village.
The second step for Ye Jingjing to develop e-commerce in her village is to guide villagers to produce unique handmade products and register her own trademarks, such as "Wei Sanniang" and "Tian Dada".
"Previously, pickled vegetables were just made for personal consumption. Now, after packaging, they sell very well and their income has increased," said Wei Sanniang, a well-known pickled vegetable expert in the local area.
Ye Jingjing said, "The sisters in the village are now very cohesive and proud of their achievements in e-commerce. Recently, everyone came to me spontaneously to give full play to the value of" leisure farming ". We have set up cooperatives, and will focus on catering, tourism, etc. in the next step. Good days are still ahead!"
Now, with her previous work experience, Ye Jingjing has come to Xiangyuan Village as the first secretary. She has sorted out the development ideas of Xiangyuan Village, formulated industrial development directions according to local conditions, relied on Fengzhao Agricultural Professional Cooperative, actively explored the development of collective economy ideas of "Party building+three teams+cooperatives+farmers", connected with provincial, municipal, and county agricultural science academies, and through the cultivation of multiple varieties of vegetables such as chili peppers, created a 100 acre demonstration base for high-altitude chili peppers, promoted the standardization and specialization of high-altitude vegetable production. She has successfully held an on-site observation meeting for the demonstration project of new varieties of high-altitude chili peppers in Fujian Province, and held experiential activities such as picking and making souvenirs with the theme of "chili culture", promoting the extension of the chili industry from primary production to secondary and tertiary production. Nowadays, Xiangyuan Village has become a "provincial-level one village, one product" professional village and a demonstration base for women in Fujian Province.
Ye Jingjing is still the chairman of Zhenqian Town Women's Federation in Zhenghe County, Nanping. She participated in the integration of diverse social resources, mobilized female volunteers, local elites, and caring enterprises to launch the "Lighting up Empty Houses" theme public welfare activities, held 59 events such as festival celebrations, public welfare classrooms, and poverty education assistance with over 2000 people, enriching the leisure cultural activities of rural women and children, and was busy.
Recently, Ye Jingjing's "Internet+" story was selected into the third "100 Heroine Internet Users' Stories" in the 2023 "Strive to be a Heroine Internet User" theme activity sponsored by the All China Women's Federation and the Central Cyberspace Office.
