Chinese representatives call for the prompt release of the investigation results of the "Beixi" explosion incident. Beixi | Pipeline | Investigation Results
Xinhua News Agency, July 11 (Xinhua) - China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, called for the release of the results of the national investigation into the explosion of the Beixi pipeline as soon as possible during the Security Council's review of the issue.
Geng Shuang stated that the explosion of the "Beixi" pipeline not only poses a direct threat to the security of cross-border infrastructure, but also has a negative impact on the ecological environment and shipping safety in the relevant sea areas. He pointed out that the country investigation on the explosion of the "Beixi" pipeline has been carried out for a considerable period of time, but there has been no clear statement yet. The longer time drags on, the harder it becomes to collect evidence and uncover the truth, the more doubts and speculations from the outside world, and the lower the credibility of the investigation results. China believes that the best way to address the concerns of the international community is to release the investigation results as soon as possible.
Geng Shuang said that the explosion of the "North Stream" pipeline occurred against the backdrop of the Ukrainian crisis. After the incident, various parties involved have made completely different analyses and interpretations. China calls for no politicization of the investigation, let alone political manipulation. Russia is one of the main parties involved in the North Stream pipeline explosion, and any objective and fair investigation cannot be separated from communication and cooperation with Russia. I hope that relevant countries can recognize this and take corresponding positive measures.
Geng Shuang reiterated that China calls for an early investigation into the truth behind the explosion of the Beixi pipeline, bringing the perpetrators to justice, supporting the United Nations Secretariat in providing more useful information, and supporting the Security Council in maintaining attention to this matter.
