Spokesperson of the Embassy in the Netherlands commented on the announcement of semiconductor export controls in the Netherlands
On June 30th, the Dutch government officially introduced export control measures for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. Our spokesperson commented as follows:
We have noticed that the Dutch government has officially introduced export control measures for semiconductor manufacturing equipment, which is an abuse of export control measures and a serious deviation from free trade and international economic and trade rules. China firmly opposes this.

At present, the global semiconductor industry has formed an industry pattern of "you have me, I have you". China is the world's largest semiconductor market and an important component of the global semiconductor supply chain. The Dutch side's artificially imposed restrictions on so-called "national security" are unreasonable and completely untenable. There is no legal or moral basis for artificially creating barriers in the field of technology. This behavior not only damages the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, but also causes losses to Dutch enterprises, damages the stability of global industrial and supply chains, and will also undermine the good reputation of the Netherlands in supporting free trade.
As is well known, for a period of time, some major powers have repeatedly generalized the concept of "national security", abused export control measures, maliciously blocked and suppressed Chinese enterprises, and coerced allies to participate in economic containment against China. We call on the Dutch side to immediately correct their erroneous practices from the perspective of upholding international economic and trade rules and the overall situation of Sino Dutch economic and trade cooperation. China will resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests. At the same time, we are also willing to work together with the Netherlands, based on the principle of mutual benefit, to explore solutions and jointly promote the healthy development of China Netherlands economic and trade relations.
