Chinese Embassy in Nepal reminds citizens not to illegally cross the border between Nepal and India | Visa | Nepal
Recently, there have been multiple cases of Chinese citizens without Indian visas mistakenly entering the Indian border from the Nepal India border area, resulting in being detained and arrested by Indian police.
The border between Nepal and India is open, and the border markings are not sound, with some areas even lacking significant border markings. Nepal and India have a visa free policy, allowing citizens of both countries to travel freely, but Chinese citizens and third country citizens cannot travel through Nepal to India without a visa. Chinese citizens should avoid activities near the Nepal India border as much as possible. If necessary, they should pay special attention to the geographical information of the border, strengthen their understanding of the border terrain, and avoid entering the Indian border by mistake. If you have plans to travel to India from Nepal, please make sure to apply for an Indian visa in advance, enter through the Indian border port, strictly abide by the Indian entry and exit management regulations, and do not take chances or illegally enter the Indian border to avoid serious losses to yourself.
