China's New Energy Industry Expands More Vigorously, Leading Role Highlights Manager | Index | Strength
CCTV News: The Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) ranges from 0 to 100%, with 50% being the critical point for expansion and contraction; More than 50% indicates that economic activity has expanded compared to the previous month; Below 50% indicates a contraction in economic activity compared to the previous month. The distance between PMI and the critical point represents the degree of expansion and contraction.
The June China Purchasing Managers Index released this time shows that the new energy industry has performed outstandingly in terms of industry structure, with not only accelerating demand growth but also increasing expansion efforts. From the perspective of enterprise types, large enterprises returning to the expansion zone have a strong leading role in the manufacturing industry.
The accelerated growth momentum of new energy demand in June is quite prominent, with new order indices for equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing reaching 51.9% and 51.7% respectively, an increase of 0.8 and 0.7 percentage points compared to the previous month, and have remained in the expansion range continuously since the beginning of this year. The new order index of the consumer goods manufacturing industry has also remained above 51%, and market demand continues to rise.
Shi Chaohui, a second level inspector at the Service Industry Survey Center of the National Bureau of Statistics, said that the expansion of equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing industries has increased compared to last month, reflecting that with the continuous promotion of capacity upgrading and development, the leading role of mid to high end manufacturing in the economy is still quite prominent.
From the perspective of enterprise types, the purchasing manager index of large enterprises in June was 50.3%, a 0.3 percentage point increase from the previous month. Especially, the production index and new order index have been above the critical point for two consecutive months, and production and demand continue to increase, which has a significant driving effect on the purchasing manager index of the manufacturing industry this month. In addition, the purchasing manager index of medium-sized enterprises has also rebounded compared to the previous month, and the business situation has improved. The purchasing manager index of small enterprises continues to decline in the contraction range, and the pressure on production and operation has increased.
Researcher Zhang Liqun from the Development Research Center of the State Council: Large enterprises have relatively strong resilience to shocks, so when the economy encounters significant pressure, the role of such a backbone pillar of large enterprises is very important. It is very important to rely on large enterprises and leading enterprises to make breakthroughs in key technologies and drive the formation of new economic growth points as soon as possible.
