In the current context where the adverse effects of global climate change are increasingly evident, promoting green and low-carbon development and promoting green transformation of the economy and society has become a consensus among more and more countries.
The Guiyang International Forum on Ecological Civilization will open here on the 8th of 2023. Green production, green transportation, green life, and green development have become hot topics discussed by over 2500 attendees.
The theme of this forum is "Co conspiring for harmonious coexistence and modernization between humans and nature - promoting green and low-carbon development". Multiple high-end dialogues and professional forums focus on building a beautiful China and a clean and beautiful world.
Currently, China is promoting green transformation with the goal of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality, and the national action of low-carbon development is helping to expand the global green landscape. China has become an important participant, contributor, and leader in the construction of global ecological civilization.
From promoting the establishment of a global clean energy partnership, to launching 100 climate change mitigation and adaptation projects in developing countries from 2016, to jointly launching the "the Belt and Road" green development partnership initiative with dozens of countries, China has actively carried out green bilateral and multilateral international cooperation, contributing China's strength to global sustainable development.
The Action Plan for Carbon Peak before 2030 has been released, deploying actions such as green and low-carbon energy transformation, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and efficiency enhancement, and vigorously phasing out outdated production capacity... With a series of policy measures implemented, China's low-carbon development achievements have been resounding: the energy consumption per 10000 yuan of GDP has decreased, the production of new energy vehicles has exceeded 20 million, and the installed capacity of hydropower, wind power, and photovoltaic power generation all rank first in the world.
Promoting the green transformation of traditional industries is a necessary path for low-carbon development, and technological innovation is the driving force and guarantee for adjusting industrial structure and promoting green and low-carbon transformation of the economy and society. The traditional industries involved in green transformation mainly include energy, steel, metals, non-ferrous cement, and other fields.

The reporter saw that nearly 300 companies participated in the Green Innovation Product Exhibition Hall of the forum, mainly involving environmental protection technology, green energy storage, new energy vehicles and other fields. Entering the exhibition hall, there are a variety of green ecological technology exhibits, including new energy vehicles, water purification and filtration equipment, new green building materials, and rural sewage decentralized treatment equipment.
In front of the exhibition booth of Guizhou Changtong Weining New Energy Co., Ltd., black photovoltaic panels and small energy storage devices like small boxes have attracted many citizens to visit. Everyone is curious about these new energy technology equipment.
Under the requirements of the "dual carbon" goal, the demand and application scenarios of new energy markets such as wind power will become increasingly widespread, which will also promote traditional enterprises to achieve low-carbon transformation and development.
The staff in charge of the booth said that after participating in the construction of existing projects, the company will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 31 million tons annually.
It is an inevitable trend for the development of the ecological and environmental protection industry to move towards end-to-end pollution control and integrated governance. "We must increase investment in technology and promote technological innovation in the field of ecological and environmental protection to expand towards systematic, comprehensive, and intelligent fields," said Guo Chengzhan, President of the China Environmental Protection Industry Association.
China is accelerating the construction of a new energy system, which is also a necessary path for low-carbon development.
Statistics show that as of the end of 2021, the proportion of clean energy consumption in China has increased from 14.5% in 2012 to 25.5%, and the proportion of coal consumption has decreased from 68.5% in 2012 to 56.0%.
Li Xuguang, a staff member of the Guizhou branch of China Resources New Energy Investment Co., Ltd., who is introducing the achievements of wind power project construction and development in front of the exhibition booth, said that the new energy technologies developed and promoted by the company, such as wind power generation, meet the technological needs of many traditional enterprises to achieve low-carbon transformation. The company also hopes to provide technical support for the low-carbon development of traditional enterprises and strive to seize the opportunities for development.
"China's new energy technology and enterprises are developing rapidly, and the green and low-carbon transformation of energy structure has achieved significant results," said Wei Xiongjun, President of Guizhou Industrial Technology Development Research Institute.
At the same time, in recent years, China's new energy storage industry has also achieved rapid development, with new products, technologies, and models constantly emerging. China has become the backbone of the world's energy storage industry.

The Earth is the only home on which humanity relies for survival, and protecting the ecological environment and promoting sustainable development is the common responsibility of all countries. China actively contributes to the green and low-carbon development of other countries in the world to the best of its ability.
Equatorial Guinea Vice President Mange said he hopes to leverage the rich experience of the Chinese government and receive relevant support within the framework of this forum to implement the plans envisioned in Equatorial Guinea's 2035 National Development Strategy.
"If more countries can learn from China's ecological civilization construction, it will have a positive impact on the sustainable development of all humanity," former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama said in a video speech.
It is reported that at this forum, 2 strategic cooperation agreements and 12 industrial investment projects have been signed, covering industries such as modern energy, new energy vehicles and battery materials, cultural tourism, etc., with a signed amount of 12.236 billion yuan.
The relevant person in charge of the Executive Committee of the Forum stated that with the Forum as a link, all parties are expected to further consolidate consensus and deepen cooperation, playing a magnificent music for the construction of a modern harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
"Realizing the goal of 'carbon neutrality' is one of the most global, complex, and global major challenges currently faced by the international community. Countries around the world should play an active role in 'carbon neutrality' and work together to address it," said Wei Xiongjun.
