"China's industrial transformation has brought us growth space" (witnessing China's opportunities) Technology | Digitalization | Opportunities
"After 36 years of deep cultivation in China, Schneider Electric has always been confident in the development prospects of the Chinese market." Zhao Guohua, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric Group in France, told our reporter that the group's business in China is becoming increasingly digital, green, and sustainable. This not only responds to the requirements of China's industrial transformation, but also helps Chinese enterprises enhance their competitiveness. The group hopes to work hand in hand with China and make greater contributions to China's high-quality and sustainable development.
"Currently, driven by high-quality development goals, China's industry is moving towards intelligence, high-end, and green development. Various industries are accelerating digital and low-carbon transformation, and China's industrial transformation has brought us growth space and a lot of market opportunities." Zhao Guohua introduced that on the one hand, China is vigorously developing the digital economy, using digitalization as the driving force for industrial upgrading, valuing digital innovation and embracing new technologies, and the demand for innovative digital solutions from users is constantly increasing; On the other hand, China emphasizes green development, including carbon reduction, circular economy, new energy, etc., practicing the concept of sustainability, making sustainability and green a necessary option for all industries, and there is a large demand for such technologies and solutions. As a digital transformation expert in global energy management and automation, Schneider Electric is confident in meeting user needs with its profound experience and technical expertise.
Taking the manufacturing industry as an example, Schneider Electric combines digital technology with long-term experience in sustainable development, integrates multiple digital technologies, and proposes a "five dimensional integration": the integration of energy and automation, terminal to cloud integration, full lifecycle integration, shifting from decentralized management to unified operation centers, and from random energy use to sustainable comprehensive energy management. Schneider Electric helps manufacturing users achieve digital transformation while promoting sustainable development and achieving carbon neutrality throughout the entire lifecycle of the industry chain through this approach.
Zhao Guohua said that thanks to the upgrading and opening up of the Chinese market, we have made outstanding commercial achievements, developing from a joint venture factory to 29 factories and logistics centers in 36 years. China has become the second largest market for the group globally. "In the future, we will continue to strengthen the 'China Center', enhance innovation and collaboration advantages, and better empower Chinese partners and users to accelerate digital and green low-carbon transformation." Zhao Guohua introduced that in China, the group has approached the Chinese market and users through the 'China Center' strategy. Recently, two major research and development centers and a world-class laboratory have landed in China. At the same time, the group also leverages China's development momentum to bring more Chinese wisdom to the world, achieving "serving China in China and benefiting the world in China".
Recently, the third phase project of Shanghai Schneider Electric Distribution Co., Ltd. was completed, which is a new digital and automated "zero carbon factory" created by Schneider Electric after the first and second phases. With the completion and operation of a new 6500 square meter factory, the factory's production capacity is expected to increase by 30%. Zhao Guohua introduced that with the help of digitization and electrification, Schneider Electric's own operations in China have reduced carbon emissions by more than 90% from 2017 to now. It has 15 "green factories" recognized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China and 17 Schneider Electric "zero carbon factories". Zhao Guohua said that the goal of the "Zero Carbon Plan" is to help the world's top 1000 core suppliers achieve 50% carbon reduction by 2025, including 210 Chinese suppliers.
In addition, Schneider Electric has helped global customers reduce carbon emissions by 440 million tons so far, with plans to achieve a reduction of 800 million tons by 2025. "Our vision is to achieve carbon neutrality in the end-to-end value chain by 2040 and net zero carbon emissions in the end-to-end value chain by 2050. This goal will benefit us, our partners, users and the global community. Achieving this goal requires innovative digital technologies and more collaboration. More partners are welcome to join." Zhao Guohua said that the Group will continue to develop and promote more cutting-edge digital technologies, enabling more industries to jointly accelerate the realization of digital and green low-carbon transformation.
