China's first successful high-pressure pure hydrogen pipeline test! National Pipeline Network Group | Pipeline | China
On the 25th, China's first high-pressure pure hydrogen pipeline test was successful at the National Pipeline Network Group's pipeline fracture control test site, providing technical support for China's future large-scale, low-cost long-distance pure hydrogen transportation.
At the pipeline fracture control test site of Hami National Pipeline Network Group, staff completed hydrogen charging tests on the 6.3 megapascals pipeline and explosion tests on the 9.45 megapascals pipeline, and all results met expectations.
Qiu Shujuan, a technical expert at the Western Pipeline Company of the State Grid Corporation of China, said, "We will use a one month experiment, including hydrogen charging testing and blasting stages, to verify the hydrogen compatibility, barrier performance, and sealing performance of the pipeline equipment at the equipment connections."

This experiment is the first high-pressure online test conducted on non-metallic hydrogen pipelines in China, and also the first high-pressure pure hydrogen explosion test conducted on non-metallic pipelines in China. The National Pipeline Network Group Pipeline Fracture Control Test Site, on which this experiment is based, is the third pipeline fracture control test site in the world after the UK and Italy.
