China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Criticizes "Minority Countries" for Splitting World Peace under the guise of "Risk Reduction" | China | International
On the 14th, Dai Bing, the Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations, spoke at the general debate on the culture of peace, calling on the international community to make efforts to bridge the trust deficit and create conditions for peace.
Dai Bing said that behind the various complex problems in the world today is a long-term accumulated trust deficit. Deepening mutual trust is easier said than done. The key is to adhere to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, maintain international fairness and justice, and practice true multilateralism. A few countries incite confrontation under the banner of democracy, divide the world under the guise of "risk reduction", adhere to exceptionalism and double standards, and engage in hegemonic bullying, which will only damage mutual trust and cause endless harm.
Dai Bing said that we must adhere to development to promote peace and consolidate the foundation of peace. The United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda and the Secretary General's "Our Common Agenda" report both regard development as an important means to eliminate the root causes of conflict and achieve lasting peace. The international community should increase its attention and investment in development issues, uphold the concept of unity, cooperation, and common development, pay attention to the special difficulties faced by developing countries, and make development achievements more equitable and beneficial to people of all countries. A few countries deliberately engage in "disconnection and decoupling" and build "small courtyards and high walls" to suppress the development of other countries and maintain their own development "privileges", which is out of line with the global trend of development and progress and is destined to fail.
Dai Bing said that we need to strengthen cultural inclusiveness and mutual learning, and promote mutual understanding among the people. In today's globalized world, the future of all countries is closely linked, and humanity is a community with a shared future. China supports the inclusive coexistence of different cultures, encourages exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations, and welcomes the mutual understanding of people from all countries. People from all countries work together to address common challenges. A few countries impose their own values and models on others, engage in ideological confrontation, seriously erode the cornerstone of mutual understanding and cooperation among different civilizations, and go against the efforts of various countries to promote a culture of peace, only leading to self isolation.
Dai Bing stated that Chinese leaders have proposed the Global Civilization Initiative, advocating respect for the diversity of world civilizations, promoting the common values of all mankind, emphasizing the inheritance and innovation of civilization, and strengthening international cultural exchanges and cooperation. The Global Civilization Initiative, together with the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative, has become an important public good provided by China to the international community in the new era, contributing Chinese wisdom to solving real-world problems and promoting peaceful development and progress of humanity. Welcome all parties to actively participate in relevant initiatives and cooperation, and make joint efforts to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
