Notice on Issuing Honorary Certificates and Badges to Senior Journalists

Major Central News Units, Propaganda Bureau of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, National Industry Media, National News and Newspaper Publishing Units, Provincial and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Journalists Association:

According to the "Measures for the Issuance of Honor Certificates and Badges for Senior Journalists", this year, honor certificates and badges will be issued to senior journalists before the Journalists' Day, reflecting the care and concern of the Party and the state for journalists, and conveying the warmth of the "Journalists Home" of the China Journalists Association. In order to carry out the issuance work well, the relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:

1、 Qualification requirements for senior journalists

1. News websites and county-level integrated media centers sponsored by news publishing units, news agencies, radio stations, television stations, news film studios, news propaganda departments, and news units that have been officially approved by the state and have the qualifications to publish news, as well as those who hold a news journalist certificate issued by the state or have a relatively stable employment or cooperation relationship with news units, and are engaged in news related work.

2. Senior journalists applying must comply with the laws and regulations of the People's Republic of China; Adhere to the discipline of news publicity and uphold professional ethics in journalism.

3. Senior journalists who apply must have worked in news related fields for at least 30 years. Among them, working in the news gathering and editing position shall not be less than 20 years. Among them, "engaging in news related work" includes news gathering and editing, news unit party affairs, administration, logistics, operation, advertising, engineering, and other work.

4. The length of service of a journalist includes both consecutive years of service in the same news organization and cumulative years of service in different news organizations. The years of work experience after leaving the news agency cannot be accumulated.

5. Those who have been subjected to severe disciplinary and administrative penalties, as well as criminal penalties, are not allowed to apply.

Individuals who have already received the Senior Journalist Honor Certificate and badge issued by our association will no longer be eligible to apply.

2、 The submission process for honor certificates and badges

1. The main news units of the central government, the Propaganda Bureau of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, national industry media, national news publishing units, provincial and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Journalists Association are the application units for senior journalists in this region, unit, and system.

2. Each reporting unit shall carefully compile and verify the list, work experience, and total number of journalists who meet the above reporting conditions within the prescribed time, and publish it on a publicly available platform for no less than 5 working days. After the public announcement has no objections, fill out the relevant forms as required and affix the official seal, and apply to our association.

3. The application work should be serious and meticulous, with strict standards.

4. The China Journalists Association will mail the honor certificate and badge to each applying unit before mid October. Each qualified senior journalist will receive a certificate and badge, and each applying unit is requested to issue them on their behalf.

At the 33rd China News Award Presentation Conference, some senior journalists were invited to receive honorary certificates and badges.

3、 Operation method

Login to public email: zgjx0628@163.com , password: zgjx1234, download the "Registration Form for Declaration of Honor Certificate of Senior Journalists" and the "Summary Form for Declaration of Honor Certificate of Senior Journalists".

Note: Each major central news unit, the Propaganda Bureau of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission, national industry media, and national news publishing unit must fill out one "Registration Form" and one "Summary Form".

Each province and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps will send the "Registration Form" to their respective news units, which will fill it out and summarize it to the Provincial Journalism Association; The Provincial Writers Association shall fill out the "Summary Form" and submit it together with the "Registration Form" submitted by various news units to the China Writers Association. The China Writers Association does not accept registration forms directly submitted by news units from various provinces.
