China International Maritime Exhibition and Pudong Shipping Week are about to be held together, with a countdown of 100 days
On August 27th, 2023, the China International Maritime Technology Academic Conference and Exhibition, as well as the first "Pudong Shipping Week", welcomed a countdown of 100 days. At the same time, the pre registration system for this year's China International Maritime Exhibition has been officially launched, sounding the horn of a grand event in the global maritime industry and marking the magnificent return of one of the most important platforms for commercial exchange and technical cooperation in the global maritime industry.
According to the organizer, thanks to a series of work carried out by the exhibition organizing committee in the early stage, the enthusiasm of enterprises in the industry to participate in the exhibition is very high. The original plan for this exhibition was to rent the W2-W5 and N1-N3 pavilions of the Shanghai New International Expo Center. As of early August, the queuing companies have far exceeded the capacity of the exhibition hall. In order to meet the strong desire of the majority of enterprises to participate in the exhibition as much as possible, after discussions between the domestic and foreign organizers of the exhibition, the new W1 pavilions have been decided to be launched. It is expected to attract over 2000 units from over 30 countries/regions to participate, and the overall scale is expected to reach a new high in previous years.
N Pavilion is an overseas exhibition area, consisting of three pavilions. As of August 20th, a total of 30 countries and regions have confirmed their participation in the exhibition, including 15 country/region pavilions. The German pavilion remains the largest overseas exhibition group, followed closely by the Danish and Norwegian pavilions. Global industry giants such as MAN, Wartsila, ABB, Siemens, Carlsberg, Rolls Royce, McKinsey, Hyundai Heavy Industries, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Changshi, and Ultan will continue to make appearances at this exhibition.
W Hall is a domestic exhibition area. From a regional distribution perspective, a total of 24 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government have participated in the exhibition, including three regional exhibition groups and university exhibition areas in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, Nantong, Jiangsu, and Pudong, Shanghai. In terms of the number of exhibitors, the top five are from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, and Guangdong. From the perspective of exhibitor classification, as the industry continues to advance towards decarbonization and digital intelligence, many of the participating companies this year come from the fields of new energy and intelligent ships, such as leading new energy battery companies such as CATL, Zhongchuangxin Aviation, and Yiwei, as well as many domestic intelligent equipment enterprises with distinctive characteristics such as Zhuhai Yunzhou.

It is understood that the pre registration system for this year's exhibition will use real name authentication and continue to significantly use self-service printers for chest cards to improve registration efficiency. In addition, the WeChat mini program is scheduled to be officially launched in early November, and visitors can customize their visit routes and participation plans according to their own needs.
While online services have become mainstream, offline audience organization work has also progressed smoothly. The China International Maritime Convention and Exhibition Organizing Committee will send invitations to relevant industry organizations, government departments, universities, and enterprises to encourage relevant units to visit in groups. At the same time, the China International Maritime Convention and Exhibition Organizing Committee will continue to organize nearly 200 professional visiting groups and develop exclusive visiting routes for targeted visits.
The China International Maritime Exhibition, which has returned to offline hosting after four years, is expected by the global industry. Many key participating companies have expressed plans to release important new products at this exhibition, and senior executives will also come to Shanghai. Major industry organizations and embassies and consulates in China are also planning business activities for the same period. This exhibition is expected to become the most important maritime exhibition in Asia and even the world in the past four years.
At that time, the first "Pudong Shipping Week" will also be launched with great momentum, complementing the China International Maritime Convention and Exhibition, and jointly deepening the construction of Pudong as the core area of Shanghai International Shipping Center. It is reported that the first "Pudong Shipping Week" will be held from December 4th to 9th. Adhering to the principles of internationalization, marketization, and specialization, and focusing on the theme of "stable and intelligent navigation, win-win ecology", a fully open activity matrix will be constructed, covering professional cutting-edge discussions and rich cultural, sports, visit, competition, training and other exchange activities. Pudong Shipping Week will also invite many industry experts, well-known domestic and foreign shipping companies, institutions, universities and other outstanding carriers to attend, committed to providing global shipping people with a down-to-earth, dynamic, willing to participate, and fruitful industry event.
