The relevant person in charge of the Professional and Technical Personnel Management Department of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security introduced that China's postdoctoral system has become an important system for cultivating high-level innovative young talents with Chinese characteristics. The vast majority of postdoctoral fellows have become leading talents and research backbone of the unit, and 150 academicians have engaged in postdoctoral research work in China.
In recent years, the postdoctoral training mechanism has been continuously improved. Postdoctoral work has expanded from key universities and research institutes to enterprises and parks, and the research field has developed to more than 110 primary disciplines in 13 disciplines. It also encourages interdisciplinary recruitment and training of composite postdoctoral fellows. In order to meet the needs of enterprises for high-level innovative young talents, relevant departments have launched the reform of the registration system for postdoctoral research workstations, making their establishment more flexible and efficient. Since the implementation of the registration system reform in 2022, 698 new postdoctoral research workstations have been established.
Financial security is an important factor in supporting innovation and creation. As of mid June, the Postdoctoral Innovation Talent Support Program has invested approximately 1.5 billion yuan in funding, selecting and supporting 2500 outstanding postdoctoral fellows, gradually forming a brand. The China Postdoctoral Science Foundation has provided a total of 8.3 billion yuan in funding, supporting nearly 120000 postdoctoral fellows. In recent years, the number of applicants and sponsors has repeatedly reached new highs. In addition, the multi-channel investment mechanism of central finance, relevant local governments, station setting units, and social funds is becoming increasingly sound, jointly promoting the development of postdoctoral careers.
The transformation of achievements is further accelerated. Since 2012, the "Postdoctoral Science and Technology Service Team" has provided on-site scientific and technological services to demand units in central and western provinces through personnel training, technical services, project docking, and achievement transformation. Up to now, more than 110 batches have been held, with nearly 2000 docking service projects.
