"The BRICS cooperation mechanism provides a broad platform for cooperation between emerging market countries and developing countries." During a recent interview with our reporter in Johannesburg, South Africa, the President of the BRICS Business Council, Busi Mabza, stated that the 15th BRICS Leaders' Meeting was held offline for the first time in more than three years and is of great significance. Last year's BRICS Year of China yielded fruitful results, and we look forward to continuing the good momentum of cooperation and deepening practical cooperation among BRICS countries in various fields.
The BRICS Business Council is an important mechanism for exchanges and cooperation among the business communities of BRICS countries. Mabza said that strengthening and promoting exchanges and cooperation between the business community in the fields of economy, trade, commerce, and investment are indispensable within the framework of cooperation among the BRICS countries. During the 15th meeting of BRICS leaders, business leaders from BRICS countries will actively participate in relevant activities and contribute wisdom to deepening BRICS cooperation.
"China has made significant contributions to BRICS cooperation," Mabza said, stating that China has always been a staunch supporter and participant of the BRICS cooperation mechanism. The current world development is facing numerous uncertainties, and China's initiative to deepen BRICS cooperation is widely welcomed. As the world's second-largest economy, China's economy has maintained rapid growth, demonstrating resilience and providing new development opportunities for other countries. At the same time, China actively shares its development experience with other BRICS countries. Nowadays, South Africa is vigorously developing renewable energy such as solar and wind energy, and Chinese enterprises and technology have provided tremendous assistance.
Mabza has been engaged in financial investment and management business in the African region for a long time, and is very concerned about the development of the New Development Bank. She said, "I am pleased to see that the New Development Bank has strongly supported the infrastructure construction of BRICS countries, such as providing financial support for laying cables in South Africa. The New Development Bank continues to expand its support areas and will inject momentum into the sustainable development of BRICS countries, other emerging market countries, and developing countries."
Mabza stated that the African continent has a rapid population growth, abundant mineral and energy reserves, and a wide range of areas and great potential for cooperation between Africa and China. At present, China and African countries jointly build the "the Belt and Road" in high quality and accelerate infrastructure construction, which will create conditions for connectivity and rapid economic development of the African continent. "Food security is a major challenge facing the African continent, and we look forward to the cooperation of 'BRICS+' in the agricultural field to help African countries better maintain food security."
In July this year, Mabza visited China for the first time. "China is a very beautiful country," Mabza said. Although she has gained some understanding of China through years of communication and cooperation, her experiences in China still leave her with a fresh impression. "The orderly and dynamic market that China has shown is impressive, and she looks forward to more opportunities to visit China in the future.".
