China Coast Guard responded that Philippine transport and repair ships and Coast Guard ships illegally violated the waters of Ren'ai Reef | Philippines | Coast Guard
Liu Dejun, spokesman of the China Maritime Police Bureau, said that on August 22, two Philippine transport and repair vessels and two Philippine maritime police vessels entered the waters adjacent to Ren'ai Reef in the the Nansha Islands without the permission of the Chinese government. The Chinese maritime police have issued strict warnings, monitored the entire process, and effectively regulated Philippine ships in accordance with the law. At the same time, in response to the fact that the Philippines did not carry illegal building materials for large-scale reinforcement, temporary special arrangements have been made from a humanitarian perspective to transport necessary daily necessities such as food to the Philippine "sitting on the beach" warship. China has indisputable sovereignty over the the Nansha Islands, including Ren'ai Reef, and the surrounding waters, and firmly opposes the relevant parties in the Philippines from transporting illegal building materials to illegal "beach sitting" warships by means of transportation and replenishment. The Chinese maritime police will continue to carry out rights protection and law enforcement activities in waters under Chinese jurisdiction in accordance with the law.
