Chen Jie said that sports carry humanity's beautiful pursuit of peace, unity, and progress. Language, like sports, is also an important carrier of human civilization. Mastering the language of the other country can not only achieve the most direct interpersonal communication, but also deepen the understanding of the magnificent history and splendid culture contained in the language, building the strongest spiritual bridge for communication and exchange between different ethnic groups, countries, and even civilizations. Chinese, as one of the oldest and most beautiful languages in the world, is attracting more and more people to learn and use it. Currently, more than 180 countries and regions around the world are conducting Chinese language teaching, with 83 countries incorporating Chinese into their national education systems. There are over 80000 schools and training institutions offering Chinese language courses, and over 30 million people are learning Chinese.
Su Yunzhe, a student from Southwest University of Finance and Economics and from Italy, said in his speech that learning Chinese not only helped him understand the vast and profound Chinese culture, but also made his life rich and colorful because of Chinese. It was Chinese that brought him confidence and fulfilled his dreams. As a participant in the torch relay segment of this Universiade, he believes that besides the torch itself, the ceremony is more of a spiritual transmission, conveying unity and friendship, and cultural exchange.
