The radiance of ancient and modern times showcases the charm and vitality of China
The fusion of traditional and modern elements at the closing ceremony showed the world the charm and vibrant vitality of Chinese civilization, which has a long history. Between ancient and modern times, the host once again shared the beauty of their hometown culture with the world.
In a literary performance, a famous Song Dynasty painting "Overview of Sichuan Scenic Spots" slowly unfolds on the ground, pulling people back to the former landscape of Bashu. With the changes in the screen, the mountains, rivers, and cities from a thousand years ago have gradually transformed into the modern urban landscape of Rongcheng today, bustling with traffic and dazzling lights.
"We believe that traditional Chinese painting is still understood by young people in China today and can also be appreciated by the world," said Jia Ding, the chief director of the closing ceremony of the Chengdu Universiade. The transformation from ancient landscapes to modern urban visual effects is like entering a new era of China with historical accumulation, contributing rich and unique beauty and wisdom to the world.
At the closing ceremony, the diverse styles of "Rongbao" also left a deep impression. Using naked eye 3D technology, the creative team made them interact with the audience on the live screen. Rap figurines, Sichuan opera Qingyi, rap singers, robots, and various elements are mixed and matched on "Rongbao" without any "discord", making many viewers exclaim, "The plasticity of national treasures is really strong!"
China and the West on the Same Stage Call for Civilization Exchange and Mutual Learning
"We have introduced the popular style of musical dramas among young people, using music as an international artistic and cultural language to present a musical style 'Carnival of Youth'." Wei Sijia, the executive director of the closing ceremony, introduced that the Qingyi singing style of Sichuan opera is in harmony with Sichuan style rap singers, popular girl groups and rap figurine shaped percussion musicians... In terms of song selection, the closing ceremony fully reflects the integration of Chinese and Western music styles.

The cultural performance also recreates the communication and memory of athletes both on and off the field, from the same competition on the field to the "global village" like life in the Universiade Village. During the performance, even the multi national delicacies from the Dayun Village cafeteria were brought onto the stage, with pizza and skewers shining side by side on the screen, making many Chinese and foreign athletes smile knowingly.
The world is full of vitality due to its colorful civilizations, and the atmosphere at the closing ceremony is just like the bond of mutual communication and understanding formed by young people around the world during the Universiade in the past 12 days.
"The Universiade reminds me of the Olympics, where we can communicate with anyone and become friends with anyone," said American shooter Tucker.
Youth gathering to bless world unity and peace
In the closing choir's singing, the roots and stems of China's unique and renowned "Gong Tong Tree", known as the living fossil of the plant world, appeared and began to "grow" on the screen at the scene, with dove flowers symbolizing peace blooming one after another. The flags and signage of each delegation enter the venue, and the guides are dressed in costumes resembling "dove flowers", with two petals resembling wings, resembling a group of peaceful doves flapping their wings. The flag bearers hold the flags of each delegation and wave them to the drum beats of music in the "pigeon flock".
Over the past 12 days, 6500 athletes have demonstrated the power of unity and peace to the world on and off the field. From Sri Lankan gymnasts who participated alone without a coach to receiving active guidance from coaches from multiple countries, to Chinese team members voluntarily giving spare rackets to Ugandan players whose rackets suddenly broke in badminton men's singles matches; From the rich and colorful cultural exchange activities in Dayun Village to the friendship formed through exchanging badges at night markets

"When a person participates in such an activity, they should know that the people here love peace, enjoy life, and pursue their dreams." said Knoop, deputy head of the American College Student Sports Delegation, "The deeper we understand each other, the more problems in the world can be solved."
When young people from Rhine Ruhr, Germany, the host city of the next Summer Universiade, dance together with young people from China, people have begun to look forward to the next global reunion. When the ancient qin of the Eastern Shu School and the Western violin combine to play the Chinese ancient song "High Mountains and Flowing Water", and transform it into the melody of "Friendship Forever", the voices of young people around the world also sing here.
The future of the world is in the hands of young people. The youth departing from Chengdu will undoubtedly make new contributions to creating a beautiful and shared picture of human civilization.
