The US House of Representatives recently passed a so-called "Taiwan International Solidarity Act", claiming that UN Resolution 2758 "only recognizes the the People's Republic of China government as the only legitimate representative of China in the United Nations, but does not address the issue of Taiwan's representation in the United Nations, nor does it take a position on the People's Republic of China relations with Taiwan". This argument is a distortion of the UN General Assembly resolution, a public opinion fraud on the Taiwan issue by the United States, and an important part of the "pseudo-historical cognitive trap" woven by the United States.
Moreover, the resolution states that the government of the People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government of China in the United Nations, and there are no issues such as "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan".
The United States House of Representatives hyped up the issue of "Taiwan's representation" by passing a so-called bill before the new session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is an act of ignorance with ulterior motives.
In recent years, the United States has continuously promoted Taiwan's so-called "meaningful international participation," and as a result, it has run into walls everywhere. For seven consecutive years, the World Health Assembly has refused to include in its agenda the so-called proposal by individual countries to "invite Taiwan to participate as an observer. El Salvador, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Nicaragua, Honduras ...... Taiwan's so-called "diplomatic relations" have seen an avalanche. In the face of this reality, the US side believes that the one-China principle stipulated in UN Resolution 2758 has blocked the risk of "Taiwan independence", tried to confuse the public in the form of domestic law, created a "decoupling" between Taiwan and UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, and solved the deadlock of Taiwan's so-called "international participation.
From a larger perspective, provoking UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 is part of the US side's concocting false history, setting agenda, and manipulating public opinion on the Taiwan issue in recent years. From rummaging about the so-called "undetermined status of Taiwan" to claiming that "General Assembly Resolution 2758 does not involve Taiwan," the United States side has concocted a series of fallacies in order to dismantle the legal basis of the one-China principle, compete for the right to define the "status quo in the Taiwan Strait" and the "international order," and find an excuse to intervene in the Taiwan Strait issue.
The One China Principle is a universal consensus in the international community.Now, 182 countries around the world, including the United States, have established diplomatic relations with China on the basis of the One China principle and have pledged to handle civilian, economic, and cultural exchanges with Taiwan in an "unofficial" manner. In important international organizations such as the World Trade Organization, the International Olympic Committee, the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Organization, and the World Health Assembly, the organizers need to consult with China for opinions on whether Taiwan is allowed to participate, as well as the qualifications, identities, and names of Taiwan's participation. The United States challenges a Chinese principle in the form of domestic law, which is to challenge the post-war international order, challenge the consensus of the international community, challenge the principles of international law and basic norms of international relations, and further confirm that the United States is the biggest destroyer of the international order.
There is only one version of UN Resolution 2758, without an American interpretation. The US's use of this resolution as an article is essentially undermining the post-war international order, damaging China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The Chinese people will never agree, and the international community will inevitably firmly oppose it.
