In the first eight months of this year, there were over 100 lightning strikes in Cambodia, resulting in over a hundred deaths and injuries.
According to local media reports, a spokesperson for Cambodia's National Disaster Management Commission stated on the 2nd that from January to August this year, a total of 109 lightning strikes occurred in 22 provinces and cities in the country, resulting in 64 deaths and 49 injuries.
In addition, in the first eight months of this year, Cambodia experienced a total of 250 strong wind disasters, causing 1930 houses to collapse and numerous market stalls and school buildings to be damaged. The strong wind disaster resulted in 9 deaths and 157 injuries.
From September 1st to 4th, Cambodia's coastal areas experienced a round of storms accompanied by severe thunderstorms. The authorities have issued an alert, calling on local residents and foreign tourists to remain vigilant. The emergency agency in Sihanouk Province is on standby.
