Shaya County, located in the Aksu region, is a major cotton planting county in Xinjiang and a typical inland arid region. Nowadays, cotton planting and harvesting in Shaya County have basically achieved full mechanization and intelligent operation. Precision seeding, drone spraying, water-saving drip irrigation, and mechanical operations can plant hundreds of acres of cotton per day.
The reporter learned that during the picking season, an hour's cotton picking capacity of a six head cotton picker is equivalent to 1500 people's manual picking capacity, which is popular among cotton farmers.
It is reported that the fragmented farmland in the local area has been reorganized into 100 to 300 acres of high standard machine cultivated land, and through drip irrigation belts, water and fertilizer are accurately dripped into the roots of crops. This not only promotes yield and efficiency, but also benefits environmental protection.
