From the perspective of cultural inheritance, non-standard use of characters can easily lead to misinformation, which is not conducive to the improvement of language expression ability. We need to strengthen guidance and reasonably regulate this negative phenomenon.
The report shows that common errors account for 9 out of the top 20 high-frequency non-standard words, with 5 each for variant and traditional Chinese characters. In the fast-paced era of the internet, the reduction of creation and publishing barriers, and the shortening of content proofreading time have increased the probability of non-standard word usage. The association function of input methods recommends options with the same pronunciation, similar shapes, and different meanings, which can also lead to errors. To solve these practical problems, we can seek countermeasures from technology. For example, optimizing input method functionality, introducing intelligent monitoring tools for non-standard words, and optimizing text content checking functionality.
Some internet users use non-standard characters intentionally, with some characters having obvious colloquial and personalized characteristics, while others intentionally use homophonic characters. Text is a carrier of self-expression, through which personality can be expressed and understood. But if we cross reasonable boundaries, we may go against them. Those who deliberately distort the form, pronunciation, and meaning of Chinese characters, and release information that violates public order and good customs, should be strengthened in rectification. Timely carry out special governance actions, publicize non-standard words on the internet, remind the public to pay attention, and take targeted measures against the abuse of homophones and the spread of harmful information through word splitting, in order to maintain the clean and upright atmosphere of the online space.

Only by improving the supervision and monitoring mechanism, using technical means to standardize Chinese expression, promoting the comprehensive governance of the use of words in social terms, and pooling the joint efforts of all parties can the online language be more standardized and not lose its vitality.
