This visit is also President Teppen's first visit to China during his tenure. During the visit, what important consensus did China and Afghanistan reach and what signals were released? As both important developing countries and emerging market countries, how will China and Afghanistan continue to work together and play a greater role on the international stage?
In five days, President Teppen visited Beijing and Shenzhen successively. Intensive high-level interaction for top-level design and strategic planning of China Arab relations; Visiting Chinese enterprises, experiencing the vitality of China's economic development and technological innovation... Enriching the visit itinerary and achieving many practical results. China and Afghanistan have decided to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. The two countries have signed bilateral cooperation documents covering multiple fields such as agriculture, transportation, technology, and telecommunications, and actively explore more comprehensive and diverse areas of cooperation.
During his visit to Shenzhen, President Teppen stated that Algeria is very willing to learn from China's experience. He specifically mentioned that he hopes to manufacture electric vehicles in Algeria and is willing to provide all cooperation convenience to Chinese friends.
Deepening mutual trust, expanding cooperation, and enhancing friendship
Algeria is the largest country in Africa and a "hub" country with triple attributes of Africa, Arabia, and the Mediterranean.
China and Algeria have a profound traditional friendship, and the multiple firsts in bilateral relations between China and Algeria bear witness to the resilience and vitality of cooperation between the two countries: China is the first non Arab country to recognize Algeria. In 1963, China began dispatching medical aid teams to Algeria, which was also the first medical team sent by China overseas. In 1971, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the "Two Arab Proposals" proposed by Algeria and other countries to restore the legitimate seat of the People's Republic of China in the United Nations. Since 2013, China has been the largest source of imports for Algeria. Algeria is one of the largest overseas engineering contracting markets in China. The Algiers Mosque, built by a Chinese company, has been printed with local currency as a new landmark in Algeria.
During President Teppen's visit to China, the Algeria China Business Forum was held in Beijing. Leaders from multiple departments in Algeria, including energy, postal, industry, and trade, all attended the meeting. Several high-level Algerian officials and leaders of large enterprises attending this forum highly praised the current cooperation between China and Algeria in an interview with Blue Hall Observer, and expressed confidence and expectations for the future development of bilateral relations.
Taib Zituni, Minister of Trade and Export Promotion of Algeria, talked about the cooperation between the two countries under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative. He said that under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the promotion of various large-scale projects has brought prosperity and development to all parts of the world. Algeria actively participates in and benefits from the construction of the "the Belt and Road", and hopes to continue to strengthen cooperation in various fields with China to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Carmel Mulla, Chairman of the Algerian Economic Revitalization Commission, stated that China Arab cooperation has great potential in various fields, including science and technology, automotive, industry, agriculture, etc., and is very extensive. The Algerian side will invite a delegation of Chinese enterprises to visit Algeria and seek more opportunities for cooperation. Amara Sharaf Aidin, President of MADAR Group, a large state-owned enterprise in Algeria, stated that China's economic development has achieved tremendous success, and China is also one of the most popular markets in the world. I believe that the cooperation between Afghanistan and China has a bright future. Enterprises from both countries will also gain more development opportunities through cooperation.
China and Arab countries join hands to jointly defend international fairness and justice
In addition to drawing a blueprint for the future development of China Arab relations, during President Teppen's visit to China, the Chinese and Arab heads of state also exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common concern.
Dong Manyuan, a researcher at the China Academy of International Studies, stated in an interview with Blue Hall Observer that Algeria is also a major Arab, African, and developing country. China is the world's largest developing country. The cooperation between two developing major powers, especially on the international stage, is of great significance for world peace and stable development. One highlight of President Teppen's joint statement during his visit to China is that Algeria welcomes and supports China's global development initiative, global security initiative, and global civilization initiative. On this basis, cooperation between the two countries can provide security products, development products, cultural exchange and mutual learning products, and people to people communication products for the Arab world, the Middle East, and North Africa.
It is worth noting that during President Teppen's visit to China, Algeria once again informed the Chinese side of the measures and relevant considerations taken by Algeria to apply for membership in the BRICS countries. Regarding this, Dong Manyuan, a researcher at the China Institute of International Studies, believes that the BRICS countries are composed of emerging economies and major developing countries, actively promoting the development of the current international economic and political order towards a more just and reasonable direction. As an important developing country, Algeria certainly hopes to play an important role on the world stage, and it should also play such an important role. China supports Algeria's accession to the BRICS countries and believes that joining them at an appropriate time in the future will inevitably promote the greater role of the BRICS countries on the international stage.
