On the first day of the martial arts competition, amidst cheers from the home audience, Cao Maoyuan punched like a strong wind and walked like a shooting star, winning the first gold medal for the Chinese delegation at the Chengdu Universiade with a set of flowing South Fist routines.
This young man from a small town in Sichuan, with more than 20 years of unwavering love and perseverance, has achieved his dream of "showcasing the charm of Chinese martial arts to more people through the stage of the Universiade.".

Du Meiyu, a male composite archer who is still in his senior year, is referred to as "Dr. Du" by his teammates because he has obtained a direct doctoral qualification in intelligent construction from the School of Civil Engineering at Tongji University. Du Meiyu, along with his teammates, won the first men's team championship in the history of the Universiade with a composite bow for the Chinese archery team. In his view, learning and archery are interconnected, both aiming at a goal and putting in effort to achieve it.

On the field, staff are responsible for venue operations to ensure the perfect presentation of each event.
At the volleyball venue center of Sichuan Vocational and Technical College of Transportation, Yu Yuanfeng, the manager of the venue operation team, and his colleagues need to repeatedly adjust various details of the venue with technical officials from the International Sports Federation before each game. "From the humidity and temperature of the venue, medical services for athletes, to playing music and guiding the audience to cheer, we have repeatedly polished everything to provide the best experience for both athletes and the audience," Yu Yuanfeng said.
The implementation of various public service guarantees outside the venue provides important support for the promotion of the competition.
The travel of athletes and spectators is an important part of the smooth hosting of the event. Yin Xin, Deputy Leader of the Traffic Dispatch Center of the Organizing Committee of the Universiade, said, "With the start of the second half of the Universiade, various popular sports events are gradually increasing, and the demand for transportation support services is also gradually reaching its peak. We will further increase vehicle support to ensure smooth operation of the events."
The reporter learned that in areas with high traffic such as the vicinity of the Universiade venues, competition routes, park greenways, transportation hubs, and commercial districts, a large number of urban volunteer service stations have been set up, with volunteer service teams configured. The focus is on carrying out urban volunteer services mainly focused on urban publicity, event promotion, and convenient services.
